It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Firefox 3.5 is out.
I'm posting this because everyone else seems to like posting things like this, I think I said exactly the same thing about the RC.
Anyway, it's good. Go get. Now hurl those tomatoes of browser supremacy +2 agil. at me.
I'm ashamed to admit that I've never used any other browser than the Microsoft one.
Maybe I should go all indie and check it out :)

Just downloaded and installed, everything going nice and smoothly. Its nice to have a "new tab" button on the tab bar, been wanting that feature for a while, plus it seems to be loading pages a fair bit quicker, so far so good. Thanks for the heads-up :)

Firefox has about 270 million users according to the last figure I heard, thats about a quarter of the market apparently, so it looks like Firefox is fast becoming a major player. Here a couple of links to the figures cited, just in case you are interested:

I heard once you hit 29% share, you're no longer indie.

I knew that earlier, but your post reminded me to update. It seems quite snappy compared to the 3.0 line.
Anyone else having trouble getting firefox to load up initially now with this new update? The first time I double click the icon it just doesn't seem to do anything. I have to double click a second time and then wait for about 30 seconds. Once its running its great though.
No problems getting it to load for me.
I upgraded last night and I must say I find it's a lot snappier than the 3.0 version. Not all my add-ons are compatible with 3.5 right now, but the ones that aren't are not critical to me, so it's been a good choice to upgrade.
chrome's faster than firefox and internet explorer put together, do yourself a favor, click and download.

Don't want to start another browser war (this is just dumb) but all the speed charts I've seen so far show that Safari it the fastest browser. Don't know if it's just the Mac version or the Windows one.
Besides, I've tried Chrome once, and to be honest, I don't want to use an app that install itself in a hidden system folder, and that install the always-running-as-background-task Google updater without asking me.
Back to the initital topic, I've not tested FF 3.5 for now, I think I will wait some time, I never rush on lastest versions, because there are always some things to fix and there are always add-ons that are not compatible anymore.
And there I was thinking that this would be some retro flashback to when 3.5" floppies were introduced :(
Is this any different than RC3 of 3.5? I just got the notice to update for that yesterday and FF isn't detecting any available updates now that the final release is actually out.

while IE5 and 6 were crimes against the internet, to be homest IE8 isn't at all bad. Of course, that's because they were loosing all their customers to Firefox, so they borrowed all their ideas. (but then again, firefox borrowed most of it's ideas from Opera).
I don't want to mess with Chrome. Google really didn't need to muddy the waters by introducing YET ANOTHER browser for sites to have to test and support... it was bad enough already.
My personal feeling is that google are just using chrome to influence Firefox in the way they want it to go. Google already gives money to Firefox... and all the features from chrome are gonna get integrated into FF within a few months anyway.. doesn't seem worth the switch.
I'd love to upgrade, but I want to make sure my addons work first.

I don't run many add-ons (AdBlock Plus, GooglePreview, IE Tab, Fire.FM, Java Quick Start, Microsoft .NET Framework Assistant), but so far the only one I have that doesn't work is the MS .NET one, which I am reasonably certain I have never actually had a use for, since I don't really remember installing it.
I'm gonna give Firefox a whirl on my works laptop and see how I get on :)
