I'll stick with The Sims 2, thanks...

The third game disappointed me for a multitude of reasons: Facebook integration, the whole store and it's microtransaction BS, it was comparatively harder to mod than TS2 and, with the exception of World Adventures and it's questing, it just seemed like more of the same. I suspect that TS4 will follow that horrific formula since EA thinks simmers are morons and I can live without it.

Yes, Sims 1 and 2 until we are proven wrong, if ever.

Cormoran: Let the re-buying of the same game begin!
Hahaha, my thoughts exactly.

SpaceManThe: I also learnt my lesson, no more EA unless it's on GOG.

Elmofongo: Yep hurry up EA and bring Command & Conquer here on GOG or other old school games that I am not aware of.
You are aware that the first 3 C&Cs are free, right? Still, spaceman has the right of it.

With the Sims series using 100% less Will Wright, I doubt we will ever be proven wrong.
I bought The Sims 3 along with a bunch of expansions when they were cheap (relatively, for a Sims title) on Steam not too long ago, so there will have to be some pretty significant enhancements in The Sims 4 to make me interested.

Having the base game NOT have less items than the very first Sims game would be a good start. Hell, the free-to-play version of The Sims that my girlfriend downloaded on my tablet has more features than The Sims 3 has without any expansions. Better performance would be nice, too. The Sims 3 has more random freezing than any game I've played in recent memory.

Don't expect C&C on GOG anytime soon, not with the newly release Ultimate Collection pack on Origin (which if you dont have an objection to Origin for some reason and dont have a philosophical objection to DRM, is by far the best way to get the games these days, they work fine on modern OSs, support mods and mod tools and editing and include all the expansion packs)

ne_zavarj: waiting for the GOG release of this
One of my most/top requested games to see here on GOG.

Not sure what you were playing. Sim3s + a few expansions worked fine on my pc (not top of the line). Sims social played like a dog most of the time. soooo slow...ugh....
The last time I played The Sims was 10 years ago.

It runs fine usually but the game will just randomly freeze. It's hard to explain, but the game won't be entirely frozen, just animations and time stop for no reason. The little crystal will still be spinning, music will play, and things can be clicked but nothing happens. It usually hangs like this for about a minute or so. It's a weird glitch that I haven't been able to fix.

I never cared much for the series. The only this title has going for it is the ability to actually play off-line.

Yeah all my drivers are up to date, and the game should be patched to the most recent, since it's on Steam. At any rate, I haven't even played it in months so it's not really a huge issue and for all I know it might not even happen anymore. Thanks for the help anyway, though.
