Every monday night I go to bed, to wake up the next morning, head to work, check my e-mails and find GOG has yet another promo on. Still on catchup with other games, but I may pick one or two of these up for later now that my budget is better settled for the month.
A recommendation then?
Sacrifice: If you don't have this game yet: Get it!
Nice promo.
I'll grab at least some of the ones which I have on my wishlist.
I've never played the Jagged Alliance games. Is JA2:UB a good place to start?

I think the best game to start this series with is Jagged Alliance 2 or original Jagged Alliance But since JA2UB is on promotion then why not - you will be able to check game play and interface and then, if you like it, you can always grab another one :D

And I'm sure you would benefit if we were to all just buy them all on a promotion, on a whim.

Well of course we will benefit. But you to - You will have great time playing them and believe me, jagged alliance have so much fun and satisfaction coded within that you wont regret a second spent with that game. Just check scores of that games. 4,5 stars for all of them. Jagged Alliance is one of the best turn based tactical game series ever created! Am I right? :D

Well, damn. You got me there.

I'd say it is. It is basically Jagged Alliance 2 without the strategic management - it gives you a good opportunity to get used to the turn-based combat and progression, potentially making for an easier time in the original Jagged Alliance 2. I started with it, and it was totally worth it.
Thanks for the info. I'm a fan of Silent Storm, so I'm interested to see how it compares with the Jagged Alliance games.

As far as gameplay goes, they're quite similar. I love Silent Storm (up to the part where you get the Panzersomethings), and JA2:UB is similar in gameplay, in terms of tactical, turn-based combat.
Bought le Soldiers on le GOG.

Speaking of Silent Storm GOG should really try to add that title into the store, it would be a welcome addition for fans of turn-based tactical combat.
Can someone educate me regarding Soldiers? Is it like Company of Heroes ie. collect resources, build things? Is gameplay linear ie. it's clear which is the best way to go through?

It is more like Commandos where you have just 1 to 4 ( some might have more, cant remember ) people that you steer around a map trying to achieve objectives. Its not linear and how you try to achieve objectives is up to you. If you want to try and sneak as much as possible, thats a possibility or if you want to engage the enemy and set up ambushes for the reinforcements then you can that too.
There is no resource gathering/base building. What you start with is what you have, and can capture vehicles, steal enemies guns and ammo etc.
It also tries to model armour penetration properly so that some tanks might not be dented by your AP guns from the front ( although you might disable a gun or take off a track ), but if you it it from its more vulnerable rear you might get it to blow up in one or two shots if you hit it correctly.
I found it somewhat hard at times and did play on an easy difficulty, but it was a game I really enjoyed. On the easier setting it is of course easier to try and set up your team in ambush positions and engage the enemy, but Im sure the higher difficulties will force you to sneak more as the enemy will kill you easier.
Sounds cool. Can I throw grenades into the driver seats of tanks to completely incapacitate it?
