Seriously dude, it's getting really annoying the way you constantly harp on about the rep system. Meh, I don't think what he did was so wrong. I mean yes he could've made the question "how much does rep increase now?" but whatever, it's not like I want the 40 seconds it took me to go through it back, and I have to say that i em quite entertained by the discussion that followed it, it def beats writing crappy lab reports that are due tomorrow morning. And I agree with Weclock's reasoning for giving the answer to Aliasalpha, makes sense to me.

calling it a rep thread would have been pointless, it would have only awarded someone who wanted to post just for the rep, as opposed to someone who wanted to post for the pure reasoning of trying to be helpful. For all intents and purposes it had to appear as a legit question, or else it really would have been just rep boosting.

Ah, was he? I just remember him rampaging about the impossibilty of consoles having the slightest possibilty of being 'a' driving force behind new technologies (and the spreading of those). Which makes other message boards private to a certain degree as well.
Everyone has the same right to stay on this board, yet there is no need for insults, which Clagg has utilised quite often.

I have made comments proven ot be factual but because this forum and threads are mob ruled you need to arse lick and not disagree with anyone otherwise it ends up with you being hounded out.
It is deplorable that people such as Zombus come running to give you a kick when someone else has a go but these are conveniently forgotten incidences when it is one person versus the rest of the schoolyard bullies, but I can look after myself.
This forum definately IS a mob rule and when ill informed, ignorant people like hansschmucker comes along and raves about stuff that is incorrect and factually deficient then take care. As long as the scenic little tour bus is running fine in their world everything else does not matter. They do turn on you when they are corrected because they don't have the maturity of spirit to see that they are wrong.
Thankfully those who I refer to are not everywhere within this forum, so as long as you avoid hansschmucker then opportunistic bullies such as Zombus won't come running to take a sneaky swipe.

I forgot to add, I do see that my style can be brash and brush people up the wrong way but I am replying to threads with facts that are proven and are correct as a response to people giving out info that is seriously misguided or just plain lies. If I say "are you on mushrooms?" on a thread I don't take that argument weeks later and jump on another thread in such a pathetic, childish and immature manner to inflame and start a campaign against someone.

what real point is there in acknowledging something like that? one way or the other? I've been flamed a number of times, and I found the best results are when I just ignore the person doing the flaming. This fighting is ridiculous and I really didn't want to see any fighting come of this thread, I was hoping since it was instantly marked as solved, people would have just moved on about their business. this thread existed for one purpose and that purpose has been fulfilled, if you've got some kind of drama one way or another, take it to IRC. posting it on the forums where every one can see what kind of asshat statements you can make, is only going to make you lose credibility with other members of the community, we all say stupid crap, and I say a lot of it on IRC, but I'd rather have it on IRC where it typically just disappears, than leave it here for the world to see for ages to come.

Private mesges would definately require a moderator instead of the joke token guy on here as there would seem to be no boundries when conversing in PM mode.
If someone were to air incorrect, misleading or just frankly disturbing guesswork in public surely correcting someone, also in said public forum space, is necessary otherwise another set of forumites would go round with a bit of incorrect information in their cranial space waiting to be vomited forth in a discussion later in life, providing those around them with the viewpoint that the speaker was a complete moron for spouting such inaccuracies?
