Anyone tried playing PS2 games on PC yet? I recommend you to use the PCSX2 , but you'll require a BIOS by law is only legal if it's from your console.
Took me a damn hell of the time to get the BIOS of my NTSC-console on the comp, but the effort was worth it.
I played God of War on it. You can't believe how smooth it works with Keypad and mouse. Quicktime-events are annoying as hell, but with some good config you can surpass them.
For example I can use the mouse movement for the Elude-feature,now that's real fun. Or using first and second mouse button for light and hard hits. It could really be a good PC-Port, i tell ye.
But unfortunately the emulator is far from done. You can only play the half of the game(in this case, the entrance of the Pandora Temple) until it shuts down since it can't read the double layer. But well, it was fun.
I think I will try to get the ICO-games and God Hand running on my comp. Also Devil May Cry 83

I've tried, but it didn't work very well. Everything was slow and choppy for me. I'm not sure how much of that is my hardware having a hard time playing both the emulator and reading from the disc, or whether it is a problem with the emulator itself.
I wish I could get it to work though. I've got a few hundred PS2 games I'd like to be able to play on my laptop.
Devil May Cry 83? Are you living in the future?
That said emulators are terrible when it comes to somewhat modern generation systems. Hit/miss mostly, so you're really taking a gamble on this stuff.

83 is an expression. Also very true about the gamble thing, but hey, it works on my computer.
A) how is 83 an expression. And B) why wouldn't you just play on your PS2.
Wow, there's no way I would bother getting my own BIOS out of my console. I'm not wasting that much time to be "legally correct."
Also, PS2 emulation is still no good. I could run everything fine, but the little glitches here and there just ruin my experience.

Duhh, obviously he is if he's playing PS2 games on a PC and not complaining about the framerate.

A)Well, it's an emoticon, and 83 expresses that you are really exited about it and love it. 8 are the eyes and 3 is the catsmirk.
B) I wanted to play it on consoles, honest, I even bought a NTSC-console from the USA with the required adapters to play uncensored and here on Germany unreleased games without any issue. But the seller tricked me and send me a shitty almost broken console. I could play it for like 2 months and the thing is finished. So I saved the BIOS on the comp.
So I try my luck on the PC. I have success on God of War till half of the game, no success on God of War II. Well, hope it will better in future.

A) Hahahahaha, I now see it.
B) Well that sucks, hopefully you get it to work on the PC.
I'd rather wait to play them on my PS3, since the emulation would be official. Emulation is never 100% when done by fans. While games on ePSXe look 10x better than on TV, compatibility is a nightmare with certain games. I can only imagine how bad PS2 would be.

Except Sony has no plans to bring emulation back to any of the PS3 consoles (other than the original ones that have built-in hardware backwards compatibility). Instead, they are going to sell PS1 and 2 games as digital downloads, meaning if you want to play one of your old PS2 games on your PS3, your only legal option is to re-buy it from the Playstation store.
I haven't been able to run Nintendo 64 games on my PC, and that's a god damn Nintendo 64.
GOG, please fix your damn edit system, it screws up royally if you are quoting.
Anyways, the PS2 emulator on PS3 has been rumored for at least a year now. If they can offer PS2 games for digital download for all PS3's, it doesn't make any sense whatsoever to not allow PS2 DVD's to be played in the system.
Also, I did get an N64 emu working on my PC a while back, but without an actual N64 controller, it's too awkward. Even 360 controller doesn't work that well.

I've never had any problems with N64 games and a 360 controller.

A rumor that has been consistently shot down every time it comes up, which seems to happen every 3 months or so and has been coming up for a lot longer than a year. Basically, it appeared almost immediately after the PS3 BIOS update that removed backwards compatibility from the software compatible PS3 models and it just won't go away. It might not make sense to you and me to not allow PS2 DVDs to be played on a PS3, but you can be certain that it makes a lot of sense to Sony's accountants. They could conceivably make a lot of money off of the re-buying of old PS2 games through the Playstation store. Considering the massive losses Sony has been taking on the PS3 since day one of its release, they need to come up with something that will help offset that cost.
