jimbob0i0: If they believe a game is worth more than $5.99 they can request GoG have it at the $9.99 price point.... If they want more than that for an old game they are being greedy and it's in GoG's best interests to stick by their philosophies and not be bullied by a publisher.
As for sustaining independent developers - given that GoG has a target market of Good Old games then I'm not sure that it is relevant in this context. Maybe in 5 or 6 years Introvision could be on GoG if EA/Activision haven't bought them ;)

Re: price - of course. I'm just explaining why removing the $9,99 price point would be bad.
Re: indies - we're all gamers here. I assume most of us also play new games. But OTOH we're getting used to paying very little for our games, so if an indie needs to charge a very reasonable $14.99 for their new game there is the danger that people will consider that too expensive.

I think it's more about the fact that we are ABLE to buy very cheap games than it is that we DO. SOme people on Steam for example only buy the AAA top tier titles.

JacobNZ: Not my fault your dense, thus unable to go to university and learn these 'buzz words'.
In regards to my game collection it numbers 18 purchased titles, not heaps, but far from zero.

Hahahaha .... one pitfall on the internet is you rarely know who you are talking to.
I have a Master of Science in Engineering, complete with an above 80% grade average, which qualifies as a distinction - although the university I went to don't use the cum laude phrase.
Thus - you will want to rephrase that statement.

The other pitfall of the internet is anyone can create their own self image.

Believe me or not, I don't care. I'm not going to post screenshots of my CV for a random forum turd, sorry.
Class of '08, Engineering Cybernetics, Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
People who have seen me answer science-related questions here before can probably testify to the fact that I seem to have an inkling more of a clue than the general population in these matters. That will do.

klaymen: <stupid idea>
Let's start new "List of..." thread. List of community trolls, to be precise.
Some of the oldest community members who were here on forums from the beginning could add trolls who were here in earlier times.

Like a hall of shame? Sounds like a great idea!
Rohan15: I agree with that statement as well, but you can't deny the fact that a lot of the games today are either the same generic shooter (Call of Duty series, Halo, Gears of War.), same generic sports game which shouldn't even BE games, or some buggy piece of shit (Fusion Frenzy....UGH).
Call them what you want, but the Call of Duty games ARE quite good even if they have been hyped to oblivion and back by 12 year olds, and there was a time when sports games were of quality (I still buy Madden every year).
There are games today that are good, just you know, not too obvious.

Weclock: I think Stonebro summed it up nicely on the first page when he said:
And I do hate having to repost my "me, too!" comments, but it appears as if the first time Stonebro said it, and then I backed him up, nobody apparently noticed.

I never said that! I never posted in this thread either! In fact, where am I? Who are you !?

We are soooo freaking screwed... do images of cyborg vikings pop into anyone's head? Also, why does Cybernetics and Norway leave me thinking that Stonebro is working on Skynet or something like that?
