lukaszthegreat: Eh. I miss the old days when everything was exclusive. PS had own games, so did N64 as well as PC. Sometimes a console game came to PC but it was rare and looked down upon. :)
jungletoad: Why, as a consumer, would you wish for exclusives? It just bars you from being able to play certain games unless you go out an buy more hardware that you don't technically need. If I was given a choic to be able to play 20 games on one system or play the same 20 games spread across 3 systems, I don't know why I would opt for the latter option.
simple: console games are dumbed down. yeah. it is offensive but it is true.
bioshock for example. simple game.
deus ex 2 is a good game. even a great one (for some people). Yet it is NOT Deus Ex 1. one is exclusive PC game one is both on pc and console.
Modern War 2...
there is also problem with controls. Games made for both platforms often (not always if dev. cares) from crappy control system. custom key association is not even helpful as the core of how the game is played is not compatible with mouse and keyboard.
and finally graphics... not that important but one of the problems.
as much people deny it consoles are weaker than modern pc. when they were released they were more powerful. year later, top end PC could match them. three years after release basic average gaming box is more powerful than PS3 not to mention xbox. that causes few problems both for programmers and for marketing guys who have to explain why console game doesn't look as good as PC port. Crysis 2 should be fun.
ideally i would prefer a situation where all four systems get shitloads of new games with few multiplatform games. like in a good ol' times.
