Stronghold Crusader is like the prequel, only with a lot of sand in the meat grinder. So if you liked the first Stronghold, you're going to love this one.
The game is set in the Middle-East, in the bloody times of the Crusades. It's very similar to its predecessor, but adds many new features and changes. Most notably you can now field eight new units, including an additional siege engine, Arabian mercenaries and even assassins to aid you in sieges and assaults. The game is more focused on combat, with fewer economical campaigns than in the first Stronghold. Last, but not least, you'll get to play the "Crusader Trail" - a skirmish mode with 50 missions for you to survive and best.
Great... I'll definitely get this one. But where's Spellforce Platinum? I thought it would be released today as well...
Dunno. Got spellforce a few minutes after 12 oclock. but afterwards it was "soon" again.
I hope it will be available to all soon

You got the advanced download! :o)
Hehe. Poor Crusader. It is not good to be released on the same day as Spellforce. Not that it would matter in the long run. But as far as a deciding factor of day one purchase...

Maybe that is why Spellforce is back in the "coming soon" area.
It's too bad that there is not a demo for this game available anywhere. I've never really liked Simcity or games like that but I enjoy the thought of a strategy game that isn't all death and destruction (4 or 5% change is good, right?). I'm just not sure if I would enjoy this type of game. Then again if there is nothing more interesting to buy one week...
We're very sorry, but due to a last-minute problem with on-line multiplayer in Spellforce we were forced to postpone the release of this game. We have prepared other great game instead that will be released later today. Sorry for the inconvenience, but we want all our games to work perfectly in every aspect. We hope you'll like today's releases.
Thanks for the information. Hopefully, this does not push the SF release too far into the future ;)

Cook, I understand. Do you have any idea of when Spellforce will be released, then? Thursday, one week, one month from now? I'd like to know if possible.

We're working on resolving this problem asap. We hope to release it very soon, but I can't give you a precise date.
Thank for letting us know. id rather wait for the game then buy it with problems that would need to be sorted out later on.

Fair enough. I'll get it when it gets released anyway. ;)
Thanks once again.

See, this is what I love about GOG. Most places wouldn't say a word about what's going on, yet here we get not only an acknowledgment that something's up, but an explanation of exactly what it is. Thanks!
And now I'm suddenly very interested in what this "other great game" is. :D

Quoted for truth. GOG rocks. ;-)

So am I. But I'm not interested in any other game in the "Upcoming" list (other than Spellforce, that is; I would be interested in Gothic 2 Gold, but I already own a DRM-free version of it), so here's hope it will be some "surprise" release...
(Could it be Blade Runner, please? Pretty please? :D)

I'm peretty sure it's one of the other upcoming games but GOG has done some surprise releases so who knows :). Gothic 2 Gold is probably the best alternative, then guild. I wouldn't suggest Alien Nations unless one of the first two is relased as well.
