Mentalepsy: I never finished it, but I wouldn't call it scary. It can be disturbing, however.

I've finished it a couple of times, and no, it isn't scary as such. I agree with the use of the word "disturbing" however. It's a game that is heavy on psychology and symbolism, and it makes you think about... Well, stuff ;-)
I highly recommend it. It's definitely one of the best adventure games I've ever played, and one of a very few that seems deliberately designed with an adult audience in mind.

SHAZYZANG: Is this game as scary as I've heard it is?

Scary? Speaking as someone who's a total wuss when it comes to scary games...no, not in the slightest. I'll agree with Mentalepsy's calling it disturbing, though. I haven't played it in about a year (and didn't get a chance to finish it), but there's some images/scenes that still stick with me.
(Mind, I think that's a good thing. I love games that do that to you.)
OH MY GOD YOU PEOPLE ARE AMAZING THIS IS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIIIIIFE!

I was just on gametrailers.com and in the news section I saw, "Sanitarium now available on gog.com". My jaw dropped. I haven't been able to play this game in 6 years because the game wouldn't work anymore when I got a new pc. It would crash immediately on the first level. I'm hoping that glitch won't be present in this download of the game. Has anybody had that problem with this download?
low rated
Whomever made Sanitarium seems to have a VASTLY inflated view of it's value... $10 for an 11y old game.. phppht... and not even a seminal one at that! i.e. I might pay $10 for Darklands, Ultima Vii, or System Shock IF I didn't already own them, but Sanitarium?! Get real people...
...and Advent Rising that failed stinker whose only hope for redemption was Orson Scott Card?! hohoho...

10 bucks for a vista compatible Sanitarium is a bargain. Your opinion is a wrong.

On Windows 7, I only had 2 crashes during my entire playthrough, and both were when I had alt-tabbed out of the game.
