Thank you everyone for your help.
I own Macbook Pro myself because I am going to an art college, for graphic design, and the college I am attending told me that this is the best laptop possible for what I was going into.
I'm not going to pretend I know ANYTHING about any of the things that were talked about in here, since I don't.
I just want to be able to game like everyone else.
So thank you for your help everyone.

Sielle: With a Mac what you're really doing is overpaying for quality components (decent hardware most of the time, but not worth what Apple charges) and the styling. If looking "hip" at your local coffee shop is important than perhaps a mac is worth it.

Wishbone: Plus, you get to go to any PC forum of your choice and whine about the lack of software for the platform that you chose.

Hu?... That is a well-known but low argument...
Today, we have plenty of softwares on OSX, and the majority of them can save files that are compatibles with Windows apps.
Yes there are less applications, but we have applications for almost all domains.
And I'm not sure that having hundreds of differents apps to do the same thing is an advantage...
Sure, if PC gaming is your main activity, you will be disappointed by OSX...
Again, I'm not an Apple fanboy who agrees every though of iPapy. Apple is now a big company as many others and have very discutable marketing plans. Their focus on iPods and iPhone is very frustrating also.
But as far as what I've seen on different OS, I must say that OSX is far more appropriate to my needs than Windows.

See, here's your problem. Those two statements are mutually exclusive. The Macbook Pro may indeed be your best choice when it comes to art college. It's just about the worst choice you could make when it comes to gaming. You can't have it all.

This is a gaming forum. This discussion is about game compatibility on Macs. Don't pretend you don't know what was meant by the word "software".

Yeah sure... *cough* how convenient... *cough*
Anyway, I wasn't aware it was a place talking exclusively of gaming ("funny videos", "favourite food", "shuttle launch"...). My bad, I should have guessed...

There you go again. Now read it one more time: This discussion is about game compatibility on Macs. Shall I make it clearer still? This thread that you are posting in is about game compatibility on Macs. That is the current topic of conversation.

Fightingmoses,
My recommendation is to get a copy of XP/Vista/Win7 RC (I'd recommend Win7, but I haven't looked into how it works on a mac yet).
Find someone you know locally that's good with computers, and offer to buy them lunch/dinner/beer (your bribery of choice) to either do it for you or help you setup your system as a dual boot computer. That way you'll be able to run OSX for all your school stuff, but when you want to game you just reboot into windows. :)

Again, sorry. I have not seen that "overpriced computer" and to be part of apple "scientology" was about gaming on Mac. I'm so dumb sometimes...

You're right. "overpriced computer" and to be part of apple "scientology" has to be about standard applications that can save in Windows compatible formats. It's so clear to me now. How could I be so foolish... Anyway, this isn't really productive, I'll end this conversation now.
