It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Paul_cz: Hahaha Firefox bloated? That's a new one.
Anyway, been using Firefox for about 4 years, never had a problem.Downloaded around 70 games from GOG using firefox built-in downloader, and NEVER had a problem.

michaelleung: I've had problems with Firefox, so DTA is the only way I get my games downloaded.

That is strange. Were you using some plugins? or maybe it is a problem of your internet connection? I am using pure Firefox, latest version with only one plugin (adblock plus) and a skin called "littlefox". I have been using this config for a few years, never encountered a problem with browsing, downloading, crashing...nothing.It just works. And really fast too, firefox starts around half a second from cold boot on my pc.

My wifi gets cut off intermitently, so DTA is my only choice.

Sounds like you need a decent wifi router then. Or access point, or whatever your setup is.

Yeah, it's the first time I've ever heard that one.

Well, then that explains it then.I have superstable cable connection, so hence my GOG downloading working flawlessly.

michaelleung: Use DownThemAll in Firefox. I don't use Opera (not in years, anyway), and Firefox has shitty download managing, so the DTA plugin is free and it lets me pause (sometimes) downloads. It's fast too.

drmlessgames: I dont like firefox, it's too bloated. I use opera, love that browser. It's fast, light on resources, and it's pretty cool. It should work with opera's download manager too , shouldnt it?

Doesn't matter. Get it and use DownThemAll like he said. No one said anything about keeping it.
It's probably down to your connection not being entirely reliable for large / long period transfers.
I've only ever used the browser downloads though, had no problems, but my connection is superb.

My connection is reliable, well, when it's not cut off by my sh*tty provider. As someone mentioned here, gog's security measures in the download server cut off the download when it's pàused for a while. So I'm supposed to download 2gb of files in one time, without stopping. Isnt that stupid?
Then get a built-in browser download manager like already suggested. There's no other way really.
I'm surprised if you can't divide downloads properly using the GoG downloader though. As I said I've never really used it. But if you can't - then what's the purpose of the downloader in the first place?

I tried downloading the 2gb .bin file again, now with free download manager, a standalone download manager, which according to their site is licensed under the GPL, and it began to download. I paused it for a second to try if it resumed, and when trying to resume, it gave an error. So are the downloads unpausable? Do i have to leave the computer downloading for hours to finish a download? I dont get this.

GOG's download servers use verification; the download link only stays valid for a short time. Only the GOG downloader can automatically receive a new download link; for all other programs you will need to go to the GOG page and get a new download link and then use it to replace the download source of the partially downloaded file (if the download manager picks up the URL automatically it may start downloading a new copy of the file, starting at 0%; cancel this one); if you did it correctly the file will then resume without any progress being lost.
Have you tried contacting GOG support about this via the website?
If you specifically mention that you need to pause your downloads, and the existing system doesn't support it, then at least you'll get a solid response one way or the other.
If the GOG Downloader is not working, it may not just be the GOG system - it could be possible that your ISP is still using some sort of proxy service, which can interfere with resumable downloads. Very few ISPs do things like this these days, but it might not hurt to check with your ISP if a "transparent proxy" could be a problem.

Ill contact them about this. I can resume downloads from other sources. I dont think it's my ISP giving me that problem. I think the problem with the gog downloader is that program itself, it appears to be a poorly done application.

Like I said the way to resume downloads is only with the gog downloader. If you download it using something else and pause it will have to start over again.

Sorry to see you're having problems with our downloader.
We're working on updating the downloader sometime in the near future.
For now you could try following the steps in this forum post in the gog com downloader sneak peak topic. You could that way at least backup what the downloader has already downloaded.
