jdsiege: Hello you to you as well. I also have never officially introduced myself, so "Hiya GOG!" :)

I'm not going to recommend you anything like Deus Ex, HoMM 3, Jagged Alliance 2, Arcanum or even Temple of Elemental Evil. Not because I don't think they are great games, but because everyone knows they are great. Here are a few that I've enjoyed that don't get as much love as they probably should.

Incubation is a nice turn based tactical with puzzle elements to it. Success isn't just getting a big gun and charging the Scay'ger. Your weapons can overheat or some foes can only be attacked from the rear. It can take a lot of consideration of the environment and enemies as to how to approach any given mission.

SWAT 2 is real time tactics game that I absolutely hated the first time I played. That was before I read the manual. It really did set the framework for the sequels and plays somewhat similarly. Further, you have two campaigns: one for SWAT and one for the terrorist organization.

and [url=http://www.gog.com/game/stronghold_crusader]Stronghold Crusader RTS meets econo-sim. Fun games for fans of either genre. Siege and be sieged. Create a bread empire. Bring out the trebuchets! Fun times, man. Fun times.

SotS: The Pit A fun roguelike. I definitely preferred this to Dungeons of Dredmor. I haven't bought the DLC yet. In fact, I may wait until both are on sale and buy them on GOG since I currently have it on Steam.

Tropico My favorite city builder/econo-sim. I can't put my finger on it. Maybe its the edicts, or the election rigging, or the setting, or the music... I just don't know. I can only tell you that it is fun. Tropico 2 is a very hit and miss game. Some like it, some dont'. Tropico 3 is essentially a 3d remake with a few new additions. I'd recommend trying the first, and if you enjoy it, then pick up 3 on sale.

An interesting hacking game. Change school records, hack bank accounts, discover shadowy plots. Give it a shot. I remember the feds were freaking out that "OMG it's a hacking sim!!!" Yeah... If you give it a go, I would recommend [url=http://guide.modlink.net/]this site in addition to the manual.

Are these "must plays?" Perhaps not. But I feel it would be a shame not to give them a try eventually.
I've been thinking about playing tropico and Uplink looks.. interesting, might choose one of them for my next game.

I signed up to GOG for Caesar III and also Patrician III. So far I've only purchases Caesar and its just like I remembered, only faster, which is awesome :) basically a sim/city builder in Rome, Caesar gives you missions and you need to build up towns.
Almost every title here is a game that must be played, depending on who you ask. Whether you would enjoy it too is a totally different question, and we'd need more input about your preferences in order to answer it.

darkplanetar: what styles you like?
there are so many games... old and new, good and bad :D
FPS, RPG, platformers, puzzle games, action-adventure to name my most common genres.

See above, if that helps.

you can just
Browse games by best selling
Master of Magic.

Get it.
Some idea of what kind of games one likes helps when answering this kind of question. If left totally up to my personal tastes I would recommend
SOTS: The Pit
Kings Bounty
Guilty Gear X2
Legend of Grimrock
Torchlight
Trine
Fantasy Wars

These are the one's I've played the most of that also have fairly universal appeal. I also got super into Two Worlds but some people detest it so it's hard to offer a recommendation for a polarizing title like it. There was also Space Rangers 2 which is awesome, but it got pulled from the catalog so you will just have to take my word that newcomers are missing out.

There are plenty of others depending on what you might like. There is some merit to the argument that GOG isn't the best place to obtain indie titles like Trine, Legend of Grimrock, and such since they have been known to pop up in bundles for less with more versions, but if you like having everything in one tidy place and Linux versions don't matter, then GOG is fine....when they are on sale.

Witcher, Witcher 2, Arma CWA, Arma 2, Deus Ex, Baldur's Gate series, Neverwinter Nights series, Planescape: Torment Chronicles of Riddick, Nexus: The Jupiter Incident, the Alan Wake series, the Fallout series, Postal 2, IL-2.

Do these, and be un-bored for the next couple of years.
I've scanned other posts and don't think Painkiller Black has been mentioned. I also enjoyed Nox which is an easy-going, fun hack and slash. Otherwise, I pretty much agree with all previous recommendations.

Welcome on board!

There are many great games here. Those are just a few. It really depends on your tastes and preferences. Watch some LPs and see if a certain game might interest you. I have been introduced to several games that I might never have known about or played in my short time here. Master of Magic and Eador were two such games for me. They are favorites of mine now. Just hanging around here reading the discussions, waiting to see what's going to be on promo or released next has been enjoyable for me as well. Welcome to GOG and good luck on your quests.
Thank you all for your replies! I'll be sure to look into all of the suggestions (minus the games I have).
You also might check out Lands of Lore series and Ultima series as well.
