Bullshits. Give S.Wars a good death and bring some new content if you are capable of. Creativity isn't within endless serialization, it's about... well, creativity :-P

Wow...just, wow...that was terrible (the clip, not the interview). How did people survive the entire length of the special without throwing themselves out of a second story window?
I love the original trilogy (even the special editions, which would get me hung in hardcore Star Wars circles). The new trilogy holds mixed feelings for me; I like the special effects, and seeing the backstory on Obi-won, Yoda, Vader, and the Emperor ( the latter of which is still my favorite movie villain of all time), but the acting is sub-par, and the dialouge is corny. And the new generation no longer has the surprise twist about how Luke, Leia, and Vader are connected, because the third movie let it all out. So, the new movies are good, not great. And Revenge of the Sith was, (I have to admit), pretty epic.
And I also don't hate Jar-jar; I don't love him, but I don't hate him. Then again, your mileage may vary.

The prequels and the sixth movie sucks. If only he removed the digital characters from A new hope & Empires strikes back then I wouldn't give a damn.
But he probably never will.

4,5,6 were OK.... Only after he fixed them and added all that stuff did they hold my interest... 1,2,3, are what I enjoy... There graphically superior and they are far more convincing by way of world generation...
1,2,3 pulls me in and makes me believe its a plausible reality... 4,5,6, look so dated and without the aid of CGI back then they were unable to create fluid worlds capes to pull the audience in... they are (as i call them) hallway movies, shot close quarters with very sparse futuristic outdoors places shown, in relation to 1,2,3. (outer space doesn't count IMO)

I will tell you this, I used to BE ABOUT the Star Wars trilogy. I really lost touch with the franchise for many years, in part due to the terrible Episode's one and two (three was actually damn good!), but I happened to be flicking through the channels and landed on waht I found out was the CLone Wars show...
It's fucking amazing. I am sorry, but THAT is Star Wars. If George had made THAT instead of EPisode 1, and maybe had someone veto some of his deciions (Particularly the insane amounts of CGI) in the 3 prequels, people would have a different view of things now.
As a side note, the use of CGI in films really bothers me, and I wonder why directors are suprised that fans dont become as fanatical about their "films" anymore. Well, the answer is because the films of the golden ages had no fake special effects, everything was done with physical special effects, or lighting-altering via tape manipulation. CGI effects put a certain "stamp" on a film which is glaringly obvious.

Used to like the old star wars movies, but mostly as a thrill ride at a theme park, nothing more. I didnt care for the prequels. Might play that upcoming The old republic game, though.

I think Star Wars was sci-fi fantasy made simple and pretty. It's good for what it was and when it came out.
The new ones seemed to suffer George's inability to decide what he wanted to make. I've seen him say it was a kid's movie but all the political dialog and trying to scientifically explain the force show otherwise.
I really like what Bioware has done with The Old Republic. I guess since they are so experienced with fantasy writing they executed well. But I know the old republic stuff might be difficult for a mainstream movie.
In any case, he really needs to hand over the future films to someone else. I'd like to see something on a smaller scale with focus on characters.

Phantom Menace is borderline unwatchable. The other prequels are okay in parts but mostly mediocre. Indiana Jones 4 is good for about the first fifteen minutes.

Really, the entire prequel trilogy was killed by the simple fact that a guy who flat out cannot write dialogue wrote three dialogue-heavy scripts. If Lucas could have gotten over himself and brought in someone to help him write out the dialogue and ridiculous plot 'twists', they could have actually panned out.

I actually think the series was better when it was using scale miniatures, models, and muppets. I think that the studio wanted to use the latest technology, and put the storyline second. The whole first movie is eye candy. The droid army, the gungans, the majority of Mos Eisley, the Pod Race, all of it was CG.
But it might just be because I grew up with the original trilogy and remember it fondly. Although I don't seem to think Episode IV was as kid friendly as Episode I.

I think Episode IV was kid friendly. But for 70s kids, or at least for 70s standards. Nowadays, kids are treated like stupid babies by the entertainment business and only get low-minded stuff.
