We're launching a contest on Twitter where you can win a free game from GOG.com. What's the deal? To get a chance to win a free game just post this text on Twitter: "<span class="bold">@GOGcom I want a Good Old Game for free [url=http://www.gog.com]http://www.gog.com #GOGgiveaway". The more you tweet the bigger chance of winning, so don't limit yourself :). For one month, every Thursday at 10 a.m. EDT, we will draw one lucky Twittfeeder and give them a coupon code for a free game. The contest starts now, the first winner will be drawn next Thursday, February 12 at 10 a.m. EDT. Good luck!
I dont get it, the idea is to spam you with tweets using that text?
That's what I got from it... so I'm gonna do it! :P I'm ZFGokuSSJ1 on Twitter.
So ill just get some automatic tweet spammer and start doing it!
Count me in!
Now I have something to post about on twitter for those random people who out of the blue decided to follow me for no apparent reason.
I don't like spam, so I think I'll just do it the once =)
i don't even have a twitter, but i might get one now
Good thing it's set up as a direct message so I don't have to spam all my followers, just GoG
Hmm - I understand the need and desire to advertise the service.
But spamming up Twitter seems a bit ..... ahem ..... cheesy.
Much like asking people to spam up forums with reference links or stuff.
I don't need a free game that bad, and I hope such practices doesn't become mainstay, cause GOG is a really fine initiative that I want to support and promote, but not if spamming becomes mainstay.
Awesome! Good luck to everyone.

It's not a direct message, it's a reply and a hashtag (at the end) so everyone will see it and they'll be able to track those who tweet it via the hashtag.
Done my part because I enjoy GOG and not just for the free game; after all, I've tweeted about GOG in past as well.

But it's for GOG, the greatest gaming service this side of Steam.

umm not really. if the tweet begins with @GOGcom, its visible only to GOG as received replies. other twitter users wont see that.
so no, you cant compare it to spamming forums. you could compare it to sending PMs to one forum user upon his request, that's it.
Done. My Twitter username is... (drums)... Hashishen. Yep, that's my username almost everywhere.
