Welcome to Flame War™, where you can make petty insults, cuss like there's no tomorrow, or make a rational discussion preferring one side over the other. Each week (or so) I'll post two things that are more or less the same in terms of its own kind, and you'll just flame on over what's better. It's online advocacy, but with more insults to one's mother. Where it's perfectly acceptable to act like half your age online.
This week, we shall debate the tastiness of two different types of chips (yeah, chips not crisps) from two different places: Lay's from the US, and Walker's from the UK.
Yes, I know that Frito-Lay owns Walkers, but leave that out, OK?

Begin.
I have never heard of Walkers, but I typically eat Frito's brand chips.
I.E. Doritos.
Walker's are crisps. Not chips. 'nuff said =)
I was very partial to both chicken and barbecue flavours. Yet have had neither for close to a decade now =(.
Well lays sounds like you've shagged them and left sticky residue all over so I'll go for walkers
Since this is on the internet, I'll have to choose for some Toobs instead.
Oh, I thought we were talking about Walker's Shortbread (yummy)... don't care about crisps.
what's a crisp? sounds like something got fried and is black and crunchy

Is that word really unknown in the US or are you joking?

What's a chip? Sounds like a soggy lump of potato you splatter with vinegar =P

Mmm.... fish and chips... the best (actually, the only) food you can get in England.
i've heard the word used in reference to snack food but i've never really been sure if it refers to a potato 'chip' or something else

We have far more than fish and chips! We have pies and pastys, hot pot and pease pudding, tikka masala and many more!
In fact, it has been said that chicken tikka masala is now more widely eaten than fish and chips.
Anyways, how am I supposed to chose between something I can't buy, and Walkers which isn't even the best type of crisp available in the UK.

I think food (by definition) only means stuff that's edible :)
