Weclock: loot appears to be randomized, so you could just be unlucky. maybe try saving infront of a metal box and then reopening it.

GoingNocturnal: he more than likly is, I get stuff like astrays in the boxes.
Don't know if the luck stat (I got 1 in it) effects encounters but half the time I seam to be greated by sniper shots and assault rifle fire when meeting raiders.

Luck is supposed to effect just about everything, combat, encounters, things you find, etc.

Weclock: this is why you don't sleep on the megaton bed
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvbYp6oaT5c

was there a reason why the player jumped on the bed in the first place? i sleep there in megaton all the time, and i've never had this problem. you can sleep on the bed without jumping on it first -- just walk up, point your cursor at the bed, and press the activate button.
i'm playing the PS3 version.

I wanted to decorate and throw a teddy bear up there. I learned my mistake. it is 100% reproducible on my copy.

in the comments section, someone claims that a save/load in that spot will unstick your character. otherwise, seems like a really easy bug to avoid. honestly, i would've never thought to jump up on the bed.

I replied to that post, saying, that I had tried that, at the beginning of the video you'll notice that I had a saved game that I almost loaded, that is the save game from when I tried that. It does not work for that spot, at least for me.

Not to poke fun at ya, Weclock (well, not TOO much, anway) but, as my mom used to yell at us if we were jumping on the bed:
THAT'S A BED NOT A TRAMPOLINE!!! STAY OFF IT OR GET IN IT!!!
:) Sorry, couldn't resist.

deathkitten: why isn't this in the "fallout series" forum o_O

There is one there. Someone wanted to make one here.
While the game is brilliant...the ending is undeniably rushed, and forces you to end PROPERLY for no apparent reason.

There are multiple endings, my friend. :)
Oh please...there are TWO endings. The final slideshow varies slightly depending on which quests you've done, but there isn't even any narration!

Ah, I haven't beaten it, but from what I hear there is more than just two endings..
at least three are listed here at 1up.com
And PLEASE in the name of all the is good and decent in the world, don't give up any spoilers on the ending! I am nowhere close to ending. Been spending the last couple of days exploring. Got the NW corner pretty much mapped out. :)

Someone? I think we all know who, you don't have to be so transparent in veiling your criticism. ;)
But I just felt it was appropriate as a more general topic of discussion for even perhaps people who may not venture into the Fallout specific forums.

It doesn't really matter, both topics are thriving.

Fenixp: They shoud remove:
- respawning enemies, at least major ones (I get to a cleared location and find there 3 supermutants, one of them weilding rocket launcher?! ... Uh... )I'm not using fast - travel, so I usually run out of ammo before reaching my destination...
- Nuclear exploding cars (wtf?!)
- those ... Annoying ... Aurmored ... Things...
They should adjust:
- Accuracy. You should really be less accurate on small distances and more accurate on longer ones, if you know what I mean. It's like you were able to hit anything to a certain distance and then it drops rapidly, rendering sniper rifle much less useful it actually should be, as well as making you pretty much unstopable with an automatic rifle...
- HDR - wtf? Glowing wasteland?! I've turned it off...
There would be other things I'd think of, but since these were the first that came to my mind, I guess they are most important for me... (Yes, even HDR, it was totaly ruining the atmosphere).
But the game is awesome in overral. And I have Dogmeat! Yay!

the Nuclear exploding cars is explained as in the cars of the future run off miniature fission cells or something along those lines...
