SugarT: i think the types of creatures are dependant on what time of day it is, the Radscorps like daytime, and other things like nighttime, or dusk, so it would depend on which time of day whether or not there was a radscopr attacking anyone at the Superduper mart, ive noticed this a lot.
I think it also depends on your karma till that point in the game, as well as numerous other factors, its supposed to be random, but i think 'random' is to broad a term. Depending on your courses of action its making things go certain ways...that make sense?
I tried a God Mode cheat, and used the BBgun to kill a super muty, that was hilarious, and took like 25 minutes :P

Very useful info. It's just occured to me that in every vid the player threw a grenade and blew up the radscorpion, so it was all the same vid copied by people to make it seem their own!
Well I just finished the game, at just over 30 hours. I think it's safe to say I missed a lot of content, there were areas in the northeast and northwest I never explored.
The end was good imo, though you may find it not so suitable.
All in all I will definately be replaying this game again. There's a lot of things I could do differently, but I'll probably play as a good guy the second time through.
Now to get working on the other Fallout games ;)

Heh, I played through as a good guy the first time around, playing through as a bad guy has been difficult for me. hahaha.

Are you the same guy who posted on the Interplay forum about Interplay games you own? Did you notice my list on the previous page?! Looking at the thread surprising Interplay went bust! :)

Aatami: Oh and upon starting a new game, when I saved it and reloaded, Nathan (of Megaton) spawned about 50 feet in the air and kept dying, I hate having people die when I try and go 100% good through the game, so now I have to start the game YET AGAIN!

illegalyouth: i've noticed a similar bug with the people in megaton. in one game, i watched lucy west walk through the floor. she got stuck there, too. when i talked to her, she looked up towards me. when i ended the conversation, she slowly walked up out of the floor. it was a little weird, heh.

When I was around level 12 or so I fast traveled back to Megaton. When it loads, I see the sheriff's corpse just fall down the ramp. I've tried a whole bunch of reloads, I tried walking to megaton even. He just spawns and his limp body is falling down the frigging ramp 2 feet dead.
Sigh, I didn't know if this was a bug with the physics engine (falling down from too high kills you?) or part of the story line I missed (Burke).

UK_John: As I read these post and others I keep thinking ' a modder would have fixed that', then I realise there is no Construction Set for Fallout 3. And with another Fallout game due in 2010 according to Bethesda, I don't see one appearing any time soon!
I also wonder about the 'randomness'. Because every video I have seen (although granted, probably console) where the player reaches the super dup mart, there is a radscorpion attacking a man. When I finally got there - nothing! If it's random, I would have thought I would have seen at least one vid with no radscorpion in front of the Super Dup!!! :)

@supermart
had some raiders vs enclave eyebot. and also raiders vs wastelander. and also random spawn of vicious dogs vs me.

Yeah, there is a known bug with megaton, the npcs are known to fall a few feet when loading, normally it is not enough to make them die, but if they spawn at the right place at the right time, they're dead.

Yeah I just found the forum today lol. I posted what I could remember that I have/had.
Let's hope they get it together for the Fallout mmo! :D

Worse than floating/stuck NPC's, is the NPC who wander into somewhere and still thinks he's somewhere else. So I had an NPC in the Megaton Bar say 'better not go to that Megaton Bar'! And 'I better get back to work' as though he was at work!
And worse than that - hearing voices from the Oblivion game and thinking 'isn't this game like Oblivion enough without using the same bloody voice actors!' :)

about 1:03 on you'll see some pretty interesting grenade throwing skills involving me and a deathclaw.
Watched a friend play it for 8 hours straight, and have no fun whatsoever.
Have about 10 hours in and have been attacked by my first pack of dogs. It was a surprise, but also seemed a long time coming. Same with NPC's. Been able to have fights with individual enemies, but no group fights. Now given I am level 4, may be it's clever programming, but by the time I had got to level 4 in Oblivion I had fought many packs of wolves, rats and bandits, etc!
The dogs did surprise me by running around the corner of a building. Certainly one problem with the wasteland is you can see enemies coming! :)

Finished Fallout 3 last night. Had a bit over 50 hours played, and enjoyed every moment of it.
I will say though, the main quest was pretty short, and the ending could have been a lot better. Still was a excellent game overall.
I have finished the main quest in more or less about 15 hours, was a bit disappointed by the ending but then I got to do what made this game great in my eyes: exploring.
