I'm curious what a "Lone Mason" could possibly hope to accomplish.

Well, he knew himself to be innocent. ... Pretty strange role though, I agree.

flubbucket: We get no alignments from NK but only from lynch.
That's not usually how we do it here but Vitek might be trying it out. I'm sure he won't be ressurecting anyone though that sounds crazy crazy.

And Rob - it must be fair enough to just assume that p1na was a townsmember who got got. It's not really worth considering....
until the game ends? I guess we're never going to get any more information than this. Damn.
Well I'm going to assume that p1na was a great man and he died a heroic death in the name of the town that he loved so dearly. We must fight on that his memory not be lost. WHEN evidence to the contrary arises, THEN... I'll still think this because I don't like to change my mind it's too much effort.

No you'ld only put this rule in a game so that the mafia can hide powerroles and such. If the mafia could be nightkilled then the mechanic is too evil. I hope Vitek knows that.

Lifth - of COURSE town can win! Don't talk that way! We are mighty!
With the help of powerroles things start slotting together. People get forced to claim and then holes start appearing. Questionable tactics arise. It's all very exciting.

Lifthrasil: But one honest question: with so many possibilities of being wrong and so many killing roles (assuming they are there) - is there any chance for town to win? (Besides dumb luck of course)
The uninformed majority (usually town, though in Joe's last game we were mafia) has won the last 3 games (those are the ones I participated in). Biggest problem is Day 1 and Day 2, since there still isn't any information, so quite a few roles are theorized to be ingame. But if we do work together, it is possible to recreate events, see what theories don't fit the events, and catch scum telling lies. That is why town shouldn't lie, so we do know how to evaluate all their tellings if/when they turn up dead or flip.

Also, from night 1 forward, investigative roles may begin to gain information. The problem is always when to come out and say "I have role X, and this is what I know so far". Not to mention that claiming to have a role doesn't automatically mean you have said role. Counterclaiming does usually lead to a lynch, since it's rare to have 2 doctors or 2 cops on the same side. And since once lynched the role does get revealed, false claiming is a very risky business. Not to mention that claiming cop or doctor does usually make you a target for the next night kill.

So, how does an investigative role provide info without revealing his role? Breadcrumbing. Be imaginative in how you provide your info, but be aware that both town and scum will be reading the same messages. An excellent example was the "Snake is real" breadcrumb left in game 14 (NotFrenchYet egyptian themed one), even if it did take us a couple of ingame days to figure it out.

tl;dr
Since I'm starting to rant, yes, it is possible for town to win, assuming townies play a team game and not a selfish one. Cooperation is the key to victory.
I may be reading too much into this, but perhaps N0x0ss was a lone mason because Kang was the other mason. Both those names, as I'm sure you all know, being a reference to The Simpsons. It also occurred to me that perhaps N0x0ss' character was supposed to function like a cult leader; by which I mean to suggest that perhaps, N0x0ss would have had the ability to try and recruit other players into the mason group. This is simply conjecture, however, and I may be completely off.

Yeah. I'm not sure how much it's worth speculating, and there's always a risk that someone will accidentally give something away. It's intriguing sure, but probably you'll have to wait until the end game until you find out.

I'ld like to offer something as a alternative to discuss but I don't really know.

Anybody fancy a warm-up game?
A game of "If I was mafia I would kill _____ because _____"

Just to get us into the swing of day 2.

(Flubb - my weekend was great fun thank you. I'm just sorry I couldn't have been here for the end of the day. You should have lynched pazzer!! >:| !!)

JoeSapphire: A game of "If I was mafia I would kill _____ because _____"
And what would be the point of this game? If I was mafia I would obviously kill everybody who is not mafia. One by one. Unless the question was who I would kill first.
The two players who I would NOT have killed at the moment (but saved for later) are actually dead already. N0x0ss was a very convenient distraction, so it would have been stupid to nightkill him. But that decision didn't even occur since he was lynched. P1na was also acting suspicious on the fist day, at least IMO, so as a mafia I would have let him live as a distraction.
Actually as a mafia I would eliminate the experienced players first who are not on the mafia team. An experienced town player is much more dangerous for the scum than a noob. So IF, for example, you JoeSapphire were town and IF I was mafia, you would have been the first to go. Or if you were on the mafia side and for example JMich were town, then he would have been my first target IF I was scum.

Lifthrasil: you would have been the first to go.
ohohohohoho you flatter me.

The reason for playing the game? As I say a sort of warm-up. It shouldn't take too long and it'll just get some people posting again. It's good to get people talking about other players -even if it's something as silly as this. I like to see who people will talke about. And it just might lead on to something interesting.

OKAY - If I was mafia I would kill SirPrimalform because no-one would expect such a betrayal among friends. Bahahaha!!

That would make Vitek proud. Even if just because of SirPrimalForm's cartoony face.

Well that's lovely....

I did what I could. I'm currently thinking unhappy thoughts in that direction. I wonder if it will have any results??

Careful there LiftandSeperate....all that Capital IF dancing you're doing could result in a twisted ankle or at the very least.......suspicion
Of this group of players if I were mafia I would kill JMich. He's just too smart. We pretty people hate that.

I would also choose Vitek, because no one would be looking for mafia to NK the game MOD. It would be awesome!!

After that it's kind of a toss up between SapphireJoe who is just a blight upon humanity, SirPrimalform for having no visible proboscis, and TwilightBard for being unscrupulous in his voting patterns.
If I were mafia I'd kill Joe for much the same reason as he'd kill me, but probably not the first night because I'm not that cruel.

flubbucket: I'm curious what a "Lone Mason" could possibly hope to accomplish.
I'm guessing it's just an 'ilarious joke.

flubbucket: SirPrimalform for having no visible proboscis
It came off in the wash. =(
I'm sure that this is going to come back and bite me in the behind, but as long as we are all doing this: If I were a mafia I would have killed flubbucket, Jmich or JoeSapphire because they were all voting for QuadrAlien at the time. In killing one of the, I would have hoped to cast suspicion onto QuadrAlien.

I've been trying to think about why P1na may have been night killed, but I can't really come up with anything. He seemed fairly innocuous, and hadn't contributed much except the occasional joke. Then I thought that perhaps it was because he had been voting for TwisterBE before he switched to N0x0ss( this I saw in post 345, if I've missed a vote change in between that vote count and the lynch, please tell me so). This doesn't really make a whole lot of sense, though. Perhaps, as I have suggested above, they wanted to make TwiserBE look suspicious. I can't really think of many reasons to Kill P1na. Is there something that I've missed? Does anyone care to pick up this like of discussion?
I voted for N0x0ss because I did not want a nolynch after all those pages. He was never my suspect though.
Pina was a different case. I found his game style odd, not taking stuff to serious and posting randomish stuff. I thought it was suspicious. And my prime suspect was Lifthrasil, but after being wrong about Pina I should be more careful on day 2.
One question that bugs me is: why are the experienced players still alive? For example JoeSapphire and JMich? If they are town, they are dangerous to the mafia. Much more dangerous than P1na for sure. So in the most likely scenario it looks like the two J-s are scum. Why else wouldn't one of them have been killed?

But as Twister I really don't understand why P1na was targeted. Unless we indeed have a prevented double kill. I.e. the scum targeted someone, who was protected by the doctor (if he exists) and P1na was killed by a serial killer or vigilante (if one of those exists). It really would help to get a reveal on P1na.

Vitek: was that intentional that his role has not been revealed? Or was that just an oversight?
