I was playing Dragon Age earlier this evening, when I noticed a small, red pixel show up on the screen that would not go away. What do I do? Will it spread, or is it nothing to worry about? I'm freaking out!
This question / problem has been solved by Ralackkimage
Nothing you can do about it, other then buy a new monitor. It also won't spread so if you can ignore it your fine.
You can probably get a replacement pixel from the manufacturer if you call and ask.

Thanks! I was worried. I've done a thorough look-over of the thing, and it looks like only, teeny-tiny pixel continues to show red. Everything else is fine. Thanks again!

No problem. Where abouts did the pixel die anyway? way off to the side so you barely notice it or right in the middle?
My old monitor had a pixel that wasn't dead but wasn't at all well. Often times rubbing around the affected area alleviated the problem. Weird to have to give a piece of computer equipment a massage but it worked...

Weird, or sensual?

Well the monitor seemed to enjoy it...

Ahem.
When my monitor was young, it seemed that computing was so wonderful,
a miracle, oh it was beautiful, magical.
And all the games on the screens, well they'd be running so flawlessly,
joyfully, playfully entertaining me.
But then a pixel died, and sent me back to reality, to teach me how to be
logical, responsible, practical.
But then I massaged it away, and returned to a world where I could be so dependable,
clinical, intellectual, cynical~
If its red then you have a stuck pixel. There are some videos around that flash a lot of colors to try and make it respond. You can try that out.
1 or 2 dead pixels is nothing to worry about and most manufacturers won't even replace monitors for that reason unless they have, IIRC, 15 or more dead/stuck pixels of 10 or more such pixels within a close proximity to each other.

Yeah, this can do the trick sometimes. I have a giant blue line going down my HDTV and kept putting this off and now it won't go away haha.
It's stuck pixel, not dead one as kiva pointed out. It may disapear over time by it self or you may try some of the popular methods of fixing it. See wikipedia article or google for more details.
