I have a strange feeling that first 4 points were tongue in cheek, and the only really applicable and real was the fifth one : ).

As an actual female, all the points are fine except #4. Because she might be smart enough to catch on to what you're doing (she might even offer to help your friend fix the problem), or your friend might later rat you out, and then you're dead meat.

All of these steps are a bit stupid except step 5, which is the step to actually go for. As long as you come across as interested in hanging out with her in general rather than getting into her pants (even if that actually is your end goal) it should work out OK. Women tend to appreciate openness and honesty about feelings, so even if she turns you down after the direct approach it will probably be in a gentler way (or at least not the "get lost you creep!"-style response the other steps could inadvertently lead to).
If you happen to be shy about talking to women and end up stumbling through your sentences or blushing or something that could even work out in your favour as some women can find that quite flattering (as long as it is specifically around attractive women and not because you are clearly just socially awkward in general).
EDIT: also, taking any sort of relationship/dating advice from a porn star is incredibly ironic.

This whole article was a blatant plug for her site(s) and little else. I think the whole reason the advice is so bad is because she wants lonely guys to stay lonely and use her site as a poor substitute.

Eh? #1 is perfectly valid, it'd be a good ice breaker and you'd be talking to her about a mutual hobby rather than just drooling like an idiot (unless she has quad SLI or something really sweet in her pc)
2 is a bit cheesy but okay, 3 & 4 are pretty lame but at least with 4 you could take that as a metaphor for jumping in when there's a problem and being the one solving it, just don't be a dick and cause it for the prestige. 5 is definitely a right one
