At least the blood test didn't go like the one in The Thing!
Post edited August 28, 2013 by Pseudoman
I always have had problems with nurses not being able to find my vein. And once they finally jabbed me a few times and score a hit, my blood dribbles out slowly. I usually watch the cot next to me get at least two victims in before I am done.
I'd love to donate more often as I am a universal donor, but with how much of a pin cushion I am to the nurses I avoid it.

F1ach: Pro-Tip, if you are going to give blood or need easy vein access drink plenty of water a few hours beforehand if possible.
How does that help? I used to not drink a lot of water. But now, besides my iced tea addiction, I drink a lot of water.

And the classic to boot.

Makes the veins stick out more prominently and easier to stick things into them :)
I was in hospital after an accident, and the nurse comes in and I hold out my hand and she swabs it and then pushes the needle in (My veins are pretty easy to see) well as she goes through the skin and my vein moves to the side and the needle misses. She jabs me a few more times in that hand before moving over to my right where she manages to draw some blood.

Yikes, some of your stories make my test look like nothing, although it has ended up with quite a nice bruise.

Test came back all clear, how do you guys feel when that happens? I know it's good that I'm not deficient in anything but it's frustrating to not know what is wrong with me if the tests say nothing.

Licurg: Are you implying that would be the wrong thing to do ?

DProject: What else can you do when someone's been half eaten? Having a pint in his memory is in my opinion very respectful. May the spirit live on.
Half a pint. ;_;
The nightmares, oh the nightmares you gave me for tonight.....
