Ah, no functionality to batch-track one's games for updates :(
Trust me, the available track system is far from practical when you have more than just a handful of games. And it's even less practical given one can't check for updates specifically.
The GOG flagging-updates system, though it could be improved, is still more than what Desura offers.

I think that most devs announce updates, but that requires one to visit each game's page - not particularly practical either.
I wish the game library on Desura (without the client) had more functionality. As it is, it's a long list of one's games, sorted by title and without any options to rearrange the list/ view. Maybe it's a concious design choice to get more people to use the client?

Do all silent updates on GOG get a mention in the game's forum? I've not been checking those forums regularly, so sorry if this is a lame question.
I don't find them expensive whatsoever.

That said, if one completely satisfies their jones for gaming with a much cheaper mobile app, instead of paying a few bucks more for the rich experience offered by PC games, then at least they have that option. Clearly the marketplace has room for both... and others.

Ultimately I don't find the two to be a direct comparison, and thus the pricing shouldn't be directly compared, either.
I think I'll throw in a little personal experience into this matter. I can go down the street and pick up brand new, sealed copies of some of the same games sold here. Fallout sells for $4, Fallout 2 for $6, Witcher 2 for $12, Penumbra for $5, and so forth. It's all a matter of perspective though. Just because that game can be had for cheaper doesn't mean it isn't worth it (except for The Witcher 1+2 which activate on GOG). The GOG releases are fully patched and tested to work on Windows XP, Vista, and 7. I appreciate that. I also appreciate the DRM-free nature of GOG releases.

Well, in this case i agree with you, BUT , i still don't understand , there's no section on Desura / GOG, which centralize the updates news.... it puzzles me , really.
