Even though the PS3 multiplayer is awesome, Infinity Ward need to get their shit together. This is even worse than I originally thought. It's like a giant "Fuck You" to all PC gamers, and though I'm morally against it, I now wish some brave and clever soul would find a way to send the team crippling viruses to their computers. Especially if they're working on MW3 right now,
Seriously, people whine way too much over a game. It's not like any of them were forced to play it, buy it, or even give a shit about it. And it's certainly not like the developers will give a shit about their whining.
Personally, I enjoyed the PC version of the game and had no issues with it whatsoever.

That may be so, but they're also banning people who bought the game.
EDIT: Never mind, Destructoid being Destructoid again. Bias, jump the gun morons.

No, the only "bannings" are removals of illegitimately obtained CD keys which people purchased from sites that do not provide the full packaging. Those keys may very well have been obtained illegally -- of course, that can't be proven either way.
But despite the rumors, they are not removing access to the game if you're using a copy from another region. They're only removing games confirmed to have used a key obtained from CD-key selling sites. If you have the packaging, you're fine. As to how they know where these keys are being sold from, or even, what keys are being sold where; they're not going to make that information public most likely.

Like I said with my EDIT: "Never mind." Destructoid jumps the gun, and so did I.

Whether the developers take notice of anything said is something we'll only be able to see with the next release from IW, but aside from letting developers know how customers feel about the game complaints are quite useful for informing potential buyers about issues they may encounter. Personally I prefer people to say anything and everything that they think about games that they've bought; it gives me all that much more information to work off of when determining whether a game is worth the asking price.

Problem is, most of these "complaints" are coming from people who clearly state they haven't bought the game. So either they did buy it and they're lying -- thus you can't trust anything they say, or they're just basing their complaints on second/third hand information which may or may not have credence. Thus you still can't trust what they say. Making their information nothing more than useless propaganda.
It's become the 'Twilight' of games. I'm both tired of hearing about it and tired of hearing people complain about it.
And it's an abbreviation thief! MW2 will always be MechWarrior 2 to me!

ditto.. MW2 = Mechwarrior 2. Using that on this site will only confuse people. COD6 or CODMW2 is fine

Cool, I was afraid I was the only one!

I was about to say "Holy shit, I didn't know Mechwarrior was coming to PS3"
Quiet all of you or activision will buy the franchise and make Call of Duty Mechwarrior and we'll be driving a rifleman against endless waves of jenners until you get to the point where they stop spawning, 3 hours later the campaign will be over and you'll feel bored and ripped off

Now there is a perfect example of how companies can change for the worst. Activision making a MechWarrior game would be considered a bad thing even though they were the company that made the second ones.

I finished the single player campaign of MW2 in around 6 hours. I feel neither bored nor ripped off. In fact, I found the length to be just right. If a game is too long it gets dead boring, which is the problem with a lot of FPSes, several of the Half Life's suffer from that problem for example.
It's like L4D1/2, the campaigns in those are far too long, IMO, I get bored of them by the time I reach the second safe house.
Only a few games that are longer than around 6/7 hours can keep my interest. DA:O almost manages it, although I'm starting to get bored. Fuel managed it as did The Witcher and many other games. Just very very few of them FPSes -- in fact the only recently played FPS I can think of that managed that was the first Red Faction. That kept my interest for a bit more than 10 hours or so.
The point is, the overall length of the game is not important, it's the game's ability to keep you interested for the duration, and few games are good enough to manage that -- especially when there are so many other games out there (and my free time is so limited).

And? The bulk of official press releases, articles from supposedly reputable individuals/organizations, and just about every other source of information as well also often fall into the category of "useless propaganda". Just like with every other piece of information from every other source each of us just has to sift through all the bullshit, apply our ability to evaluate information, and try to find what few grains of truth we can to put together as complete a picture as possible. The folks complaining aren't being any more or less truthful as the folks giving positive or neutral opinions, and aren't having any effect on the overall signal to noise ratio. It's just another bit of information to use or ignore as each person sees fit. And if you don't find you have any use for the (mis)information some group is writing then the solution is really quite simple- don't read it, don't worry about it, don't complain about it, just ignore it.
