Firebrand9: He didn't really didn't know what gamers would enjoy. He left that to the experts he surrounded himself with. He was a pure businessman and the only game he was reported to play was Go.
I can't help but picture that during his younger days, some of his matches ended in Nuclear Tesuji, AKA: Throwing the whole board.

tinyE: Just blow on him, he'll be fine.
I love you.

Gandos: Yamauchi was a great businessman, but as far as his personal life was concerned.....well, let's just say most people wouldn't consider him a good role model.
I guess just as that. He's asian.

But you would get to play SNES way ahead of everybody :P

Actually, you wouldn't. If you were one of the sons of a hardware designers or chip man, sure.

I would. Because grandson of Nintendo founder gets everything he wants.

And if hardware designers showed their kids a prototype of the device, they would not only risk to loose their job, but also huge contractual damages for taking out the company's secrets out of the facitilies.

That would be why you'd take advantage of 'bring your child to work' day and then set a nice satin cloth over the prototype.

Also, that doesn't seem to have worked out so well in the case of Hiroshi's actual descendants.

They didn't love him enough!

Where I could see his bio including his personal life, btw?

There are various, and there's likely to be a posthumous publication as well.

Allegedly he was a very high Dan rank in Go according to "Game Over" and associated Go strategy with business strategy.

This is starting to get blown way out of proportion.

RIP Yamauchi-san, I cannot thank this man enough for his smart business allowing for me to grow up with the NES onward (among many other great computer and console based gaming) and it was such devices and games that fostered my love of gaming of almost all genres, and styles. May his family have many well wishes in this time of loss, and again I hope he rests peacefully now.
