Like most people here I have to consider the $10 game a little more than the $6. That is not to say that I wouldn't buy any of the former because I have (and will again) as the additional content makes the deal as sweet as one can get.
For me it just becomes less of an impulse buy and more of a "are you sure you want to do this?" buy.
$10 is still really cheap for any game, new or old.
In regards to 5.99 games, right off the bat when I got on the site, I didn't even think twice about buying three games right off the bat for 18 bucks, to me it was a steal.
However at 10 bucks, sure in itself it's not too much, but when you add up three games or a couple, that 10 becomes 30 and that can almost buy a fairly recent game from ebay, etc.
It just add's up if yo u wanna splurge and buy a couple of classic games on a whim, I find people thinking more and debeating on it rather then going off the bat and buying them like they would for the 5.99 price.

Small nitpick here. 3 games at $5.99 in fact comes to $18, or more accurately $17.97. Don't fall for the transparent marketing scheme of deducting 1 cent from a price to make it seem a full dollar cheaper.
This thread is even named "$6 vs $10 games". I personally think GOG should change the prices to reflect this. They are so honest, up-front and customer-friendly about everything else. Might as well charge what it costs, instead of "pretending" the prices are cheaper.
Disclaimer: This is not meant as a harsh criticism of GOG's business practices. Nearly all shops set their prices in this way. I just think it's ridiculous, that's all.

Yes, I realized that when I was typing in my message and I got mixed up and put in 5 bucks then I remember it was 5.99 and I went back and changed that, bu t I forgot about the part where I said "15" when I meant to say 18 instead.
My point still stands though, 18 vs 30 bucks.
i might go for the $10 ones more if there were loyalty points or something. 1 point for $5 games and 2 points for $10 games. 5 points = free $5 game.. or something like that.

That might be a good marketing idea, but I would think it would have to be higher before a Free game.
Maybe 15 or 20 points might work better. I do not think gog could give away a free game with every 3 to 5 games purchased. However, 1 game after every 10 to 15 games purchased would be more conceivable.
I like the idea though, but since I am a customer, of course I would like it! :o)
I'll be honest with you: I'm extremely poor at the moment. However the 6 to 10 dollar price point does not phase me at all. Heck I've wasted more money on crappy things then the price of any of the games on here. 10 dollars is a movie and a soda at the theater; most of these games will give you far more bang for your buck then that.
I'm actually taking a few months off buying "new" games, so this service is the beez kneez in my opinion. Even if you spend 10 bucks on a game and don't care for it to much? At least it's not 50, 60, or more like new games cost.
I'm pretty sure that the prices at GOG aren't totally determined by them; I'm guessing they give the studios the price points they want to sale games for (6 to 10 bucks) and the studios tell GOG how much they want their games sold for.
The value for the game is usually up to the purchaser; if you are unsure there have been demos released for most of the games on here. (In fact, I think there is a thread listing them.) Play the demo before you try; I did with Sacred. At that point all that is wasted is time ;)

soulgrindr: Maybe its like i said before, we all have a maximum "impulse buy" threshold, and after that i start thinking about it too much.
I'm much more likely to pick up 3 or 4 games at $5.99 than to spend $24 on a 4 game pack, because i won't analyze the purchase so much, and i won't consider if i'll actually play every game in the package, and I can pace it better to suit my lifestyle.

yes i agree. anymore expensive and ill start to think about the purchase and probably decide that its easier to fiddle around trying to get my originals working on the pc rather than just download a working version.

You already thought about the purchase, and figured it's easier to fiddle around to get the originals working.
I bought Op Flash even though I already have it. Having it all in one installer already updated and no-cd required was worth it.

true enough about the fallout games. ive already got em and just needed to do some extra bit of work to get em working on my netbook.
but for stonekeep i thought 'original game + disk in drive + dosbox configuration OR price is cheap so download from here and just run it'
i chose the latter for that one but was disappointed that it still used dosbox. but after playing with it for some time, it is very well set up to run well by default. so a task was done for me in that regard aswell, and i dont mind paying a small sum for it.
anyway, on topic = no higher than $9.99 please + more point&click adventures and rpg's.
