have you guys seen the latest "controversy" by the snowflake brigade?
if not i'll summerize

GOG did a promotion to Postal 2 lost paradise and they used a gif of the protag pissing on the grave
of "games journalism"
of course this did not stand with the SJW marxists

they immediately hounded GOG's tweeter that they are "sexists" and "nazis"
and GOG got cucked and removed the tweet
source: https://www.oneangrygamer.net/2018/07/gog-com-tweets-out-reference-to-gamergate-and-game-journalists-lose-their-minds-on-twitter/64258/

so i want a GOG representative to tell me what they hell are they thinking, these marxists are not your consumer base
so why are you removing tweets and apologizing after being verbally slandered by those vermin?

You know, you can be against SJW, against white supremacy and against GamerGate at the same time.

how is gamergate evil? it was literally created to fight the corruption in games journalism
What the heck is a "kotow"?

Not all battles are worth fighting. Removing a tweets and acting weak, is the right way to handle irrational responses. Let you opponent claim perceived victory, by sacrificing what's meaningless to you.

Yeah, but it quickly became a fight to keep away from games and game development women (because "hurr durr we have to fight against feminism"), homosexuality, muslims etc. and an excuse to emphatize that "gaming" means "white european/american man". Gamergate became s**t and it should not be supported anymore (which doesn't mean "being cucked" or supporting SJWs). But I'm sure that GOG's social media manager (who reads the forums here) will give you a more satisfying answer which won't hurt your political values. What I can tell you is that yeah: liberals and marxists are part of GOG's consumer base, I'm an example.
I could say things, but I won't.

So instead, I'll just say, what did you expect, it's Postal. The shock jock of video games. If they shock people, they've done exactly what they've set out to do.

You are an idiot who "Listens and Believes". They went with that story because they lost the narrative and tarred gamers.
It's silly they removed the tweet.

but they also probably did it to avoid having the account banned, it was probably getting reported like mad by the SJW's
which is unfortunate.

It is how ever sad that Social media policy dictates how a company reacts to snowflakes getting mad.

alright lets say we both own equal amount of games
one game in particular is not to your taste, so your "liberal" friends demand GOG to remove their tweet
and apologize

i find that offensive because that's self-censorship and goes against free market values because GOG is capitalistic
(just a very userfriendly type of capitalism)

and you'll say "well if it offends people it should be removed"
so lets turn this around

lets say GOG publishes a tweet about Towerfall Acension and praises how "heroic" is Antia Sarancerstien and that she totally deserves to have a playable model in game

should i have the same rights to demand them to remove the tweet? or should i simply move on and buy a different game?

see that's the difference between me and you, i don't coerce them to remove shit that's not to my taste
but you do, and that's anti free-market

GOG should remain free market and not kowtow to crybullies who lurk on social media for virtue signalling points
Because CDP want everyone -SJWs, GG, alt-right, antifas, Neo-Nazis- to buy DRM-free games. Like Valve, politics are irrelevant to them as long as the money is flowing their way.

I doubt it. Why would they be any more likely to discuss with the OP than with the enraged Twitter followers? OP's vocabulary doesn't really inspire sensible conversations either, it's no less ideologically loaded.
#SJWs #snowflake brigade #marxists #cucked #vermin

It's just another case of GOG trying to be funny and getting in over their heads with ill-advised PR. Same old, same old.

IF twitter banned their account for bullshit like "hate speech" or some other nonsense
that would be very liable to a lawsuit

that or GOG would avoid using Twatter (i.e the new tumbler in our age of censorship)
because the way i see it, if people can come up and other call them Nazis
when they are infact NOT, how is that even remotely acceptable?
Well, what kind of solution do you hope to achieve by marking this thread as "problem".

Except now they have an opening. A weakness. A method of attack. Now they know that they can manipulate gog.com in the future, by feigning outrage. This doesn't give them a "perceived" victory. It gives them a victory, and one that they will abuse again and again in the future.

The best course of action would have been to ignore them entirely, leave the tweet up, and just weather their attacks. The attacks mean nothing, would have no effect, except what *YOU* surrender to them. And Gog surrendered.

I don't know enough about international law about it being lawsuit worthy. so I am not going to comment about it other then polite disagreement.

problem is avoiding twitter can put you out of the loop on things, but it isnt acceptable, but sadly mobbing on twitter is far to common and its often better to be safe then sorry.

I just wish GOG did take the risk though, but thats me.
sorry if I sound like Dr. Jekyll and mr. hyde.
