While the former is really more spectacular, the second really rewards re-watching and taking in all the details. Platige ftw.

Great cinematic that promised an epic game full of incredible gameplay that we wouldn't actually get for several years after this game. Still one of the best intros ever IMO.

For a non-minimalistic intro, you could look at the intro of the original Lufia. The game *starts* with a party of high level adventurers storming the final dungeon, battling the 4 sinistrals, and defeating them.

Rather fun intro since you actually get to play it, and you get a taste of some of the abilities you get at higher levels. The only downside is that it spoils the ending of Lufia 2. (With that said, note that the developers of Lufia 2 likely knew that players would know what happens in the end.)
