Dr.Chaos-ver1.0: I just upgraded froma 550ti to a r7 360
I just upgraded my c-3po to a r2-d2.

As for graphics cards, my most powerful PC (a 4 years old gaming laptop, or is it already 5, I don't even remember exactly what summer I bought it) has a NVidia Geforce GTX 670M. For now it has been ok, runs Fallout Tactics and Team Fotress 2 fine.

With The Witcher 3 I get something like 25-30 FPS at 1280x720 resolution using medium-high settings. Then again by the time I have played The Witcher 1-2 and moving to 3, I probably have a faster PC (gaming laptop) already.

My old retro desktop (meant for running some very old retail games) has an ATI Radeon X800 Pro graphics card or somesuch. It runs e.g. Mechwarrior 3 and Nocturne fine.

GTX 950 on my laptop. Witcher 3 runs ok-ish with 1366*768 and high details. Looking forward to Elex, hope it will run smoothly.

jonridan: Intel HD 4000. I'll be lying if I didn't say I was surprised to discover this thing run games xD Buy yeah, nothing with Unreal Engine... Portal 2 and Tomb Raider (2013) run great, yet Life Is Strange does not... That's technology for you.
I have an integrated Radeon R5... I do not know if tomb raider 2013 will work for me... But I can play tomb raider anniversary without any problem in Linux and I'm happy with that :-)
HD5450 in a box in the other room.
HD6850 (perma loaned to someone).
XFX RX 480 XXX GTR. This card is amazeballs!
RX 480 8GB, upgraded from a Radeon 5870 some months ago. Really happy with it so far, i don't have any 4k+ screens yet and so far everything runs well enough on ultra in 1200p.

Oldest i still have is a Voodoo3 3000, just cant throw it away :D
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB - laptop version. Woo-Hoo! No seriously: this thing runs the latest DOOM at +110 fps all the time. I have never had a GPU so powerful before...

A GT 740. Enough for the time being, but I will change soon enough. If I had to take another one today, I would choose a GTX 1060 (6GB version).
GTX970

Same here but I have a desktop version. It is indeed amazing. My previous card was a 750ti OC.

Radeon HD 7950 3GB GDDR5 (pretty much equivalent to the r9 280 but higher power comsumption)

It's a good card. For my next build I will most likely upgrade to an rx 580 8GB model. But that is a few years down the road.

If only all games were as optimised as DOOM is... That game runs incredibly well!
Desktop has a GeForce GTX 560 Ti with 2GB VRAM (double the normal). Laptop has ten years old Intel integrated...
