Dragonsphere, Ultima, Warsow, Beneath A Steel Sky, and that one GOG mix have been cleaned up. Let me know if you guys find anymore of this junk littering the forums. Thanks.

BlueMooner: Do you guys have an official policy for spammers? Is there ever a point where you ban the account? What if someone's spamming AND they own games?
I wish we had the kind of policy where we could pull the old Jay and Silent Bob maneuver but that could get expensive :D

Regarding the amount and persistence of the spamming - either GOG got very popular, or a couple of members are on infected systems and don't know about it.
Was there ever a case of the latter? And does GOG do anything, like inform the involved party?
Those were brand new accounts and we have no way of telling if someone's part of a botnet of sorts.

Dev is aware of the new wave of spammers; they're working on a fix.

Frankly, given that they can't post links, I can't imagine what they think they'll get out of it except for crapping all over a perfectly good forum. :(

Yes, there are actual people from India here and having a countrywide IP ban would affect innocent people. We shouldn't let the actions of some spammers hurt those who have nothing to do with this sort of thing.

There's a mechanic in place :) We got better things to do during the weekend than manually erase spam :)

reaver894: Well can you edit it so that say 20 spam reports on a single post removes posing privileges until a staff can look at the topics and posters in question. Or something like that? Its getting a slight irritating.
I think it's working as intended for now as long as the baba ji specialist spam disappears quickly :)

I don't like spammers so I prefer the cruelty of making them think that they did their "job" and then have the system erase their useless posts 30 seconds later :)
