Just send in to ask Support but thought maybe someone here might know. My credit card company had to cancel my card, since SOE are too greedy. They kept charging me monthly even though I stopped playing and only signed up for 1 month. So my card is still about 1 week away, yet I wanted to try to grab a game or two on sale.

Anyone know how to use a Visa Gift Card, if it's even possible. It doesn't have a name or expiration date, only # and security code?

Thanks.

Not possible to buy games here with a USA gift card. The only way you will be able to get some GOGs is if someone is willing to trade you GOGs for Steam games. Gift cards in the USA only work with stores in the USA. :( And I'm not even sure it's possible for you to use your gift card to purchase Steam games because your gift card has no expiration date. A gift card not having a name is no problem because when you buy stuff, you can just use your name. Worst case scenario, you could go here and ask people to gift you a game.

Couldn't he link the gift card to a PayPal account though? In which case from the PoV of the issuer, it would be a domestic purchase.
Thanks monkeydelarge, oh well guess I will have to wait till the next sale.

Edit:
Oh, that might work, thanks hedwards.

wouldnt he still need an expiry date? (cant remember if its required when adding credit/debit visa cards to paypal)
US ones don't work I think, but I can confirm Canadian ones do. So if you happen to live near the border you can make a trip up and buy one of those.
Sadly Paypal has no customer support atm.

Thanks again for all the infos.

That's a good point. It surprises me that the don't include that. The American Express gift cards I've gotten as rebates both had expiration dates on them.

I suspect that if the OP goes to the Visa site to check the balance that there's some way of finding an expiration date to use. But, technically gift cards in this part of the country don't expire ever, so they technically wouldn't have an expiration date.
A necro-ing spam account?
A new approach, but still just as useless.
What's impressive is that you somehow managed to post a link.

Huh? What did I do? It's not like I even bumped the thread, I posted it within a minute of him showing up and proceeded to report the post as spam.

And you shall have at least removed the link, whatever it is

Oh, crap. I thought I removed it.
My bad, sorry about that.

Edit: Wait...what the heck? It's not letting me edit that post! This explains why it wasn't removed the first time I did it. Apparently I wasn't smart enough to go back and check for sure.

Re-edit: Now it's working, but that was...weird. I had to re-do the same thing like 5 times in a row before it actually went through.

EDIT: forget it ;)

Re-Edit, you might have left the name in it.... ;)

No, I didn't. I erased the entire "quote" section. Still accomplished nothing.
Sometimes I forget how buggy this forum can be.
