Charon121: I'm afraid of expectations blown out of proportion.
As I posted immediately above your post, players had a good response to the alpha, so I think you don't have to worry.

Sure, some people will complain, but some people always complain. Doesn't mean it will be perfect, but neither was PS:T, and I'm sure most people will judge it fairly, based on their preferences.

Personally my main worry is that it will be too heavy. I want something that's more about wonder than horror, and has some humour thrown in. I don't want "consequences" that tell me that whatever I choose is shit. I hate those games. I want to be able to make a difference for the better, to do good in unexpected ways.

Charon121: I'm afraid of expectations blown out of proportion. Every PS:T is waiting for this game like the Second Coming of Chris Avellone that will redeem the current game market and elevate gamers into the rapture of exquisitely written text. And big expectations often lead to big disappointments.
I am good at eliminating expectation and not paying any attention to any hype or anything else and going into things blank slate and I intend to do that with TToN as well. I just don't pay attention much to what other people do/care/say, I will play it and experience it on my own anyway and only then can I really decide, maybe!

The world looks very interesting; if the story and characters match that, I'll be happy.

Powered by Pillars of Eternity technology - drat, does that mean this is only going to run on 64 bit operating systems?

Same here. I don't read any of the news about TToN, maybe just glance at a few screenshots every now and then. No matter the result, it's still preorder-worthy and a game no self-respecting RPG player will want to miss out on.
Some news:

Chenge of the lead developer....so maybe things are not going quite smoothly.

Please do beat it. For a couple of times, too. Just to see all the endings.:)

I'll play it in easy mode just to see it.

And I already saw one ending where I became a king of an undead village in the sewers.
Interesting.I never realised chris avellone had left Obsidian either?.
I backed that game up but i still need to play PS:T first. The video looks promising.

Unfortunately it also means lenghty loading screens from the reviews.
Looks sweet.
Aaaargh fuck, I knew it, it's only for 64-bit windows. Damn damn daaaaaaaaaaaamn!!!!! I really need a new laptop. Damn it.

Having it here as "In Development" would be cool though.
