I'm considering picking up Outlaws and/or Monkey Island, but the sales don't look that great to me. I like it when they're more around 75%.

Does anybody know if either game has been discounted greater than now (60%/65% respectively above)? [edit-I know more than 1 MI, but it won't let me post links atm]

I already picked up a lot of games recently here - Warcraft bundle, Rebel Assault 1+2, Civ 3 complete + 4 complete, Sim 2000 Special + 3000 Unlimited + 4 Deluxe, Hercules, and Incredible Machine mega! With so many new games in such a short time, Outlaws and Monkey Island are not at the top of my list so I can afford to wait for a better sale for them... but then the otherhand, if there's not a better sale to be had, then why not get it now while the sales are on.

Thoughts?

It's not loading for me currently, but isthereanydeal has this sort of historical information.

There are various resources here on gog, such as RWarehall's running google sheet of GoG-specific sales info:
docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1RtI0Mpg1jjnM66q-02Y56-u5jcGT3YDKn6-5WsLwC6k/edit?usp=sharing

He puts sales-specific data in most of the blue posts announcing the sales. I'd have to dig around to find the link for the disney sale, but here's a different one just as an example:
https://www.gog.com/forum/general/midweek_sale_bstrategy_and_raw_fury_games_up_to_80b_ceead

And ciemnogrodzianin keeps a running list of sales for the current year: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/gog_weekly_weekend_sales

good luck!

Buy Monkey Island now and wait for Outlaws 75% discount this winter. You can hate me later ;)
Monkey Island is worth its full price and more. A -65% is a real bargain. You'll be playing THE game that defined the adventure game genre and is still the reference nowadays.
Buy when you actually want to play the game. Trust me you'll save a lot of money, no matter how lucrative the sales might seem now.

This, unless you enjoy some really expensive air.

My thoughts are:

Outlaws is a great game and absolutely worth the asking price.
Btw: I bought it for the "full" price of $5.99 when it got released on GOG. And I don't regret it.

And Monkey Island is also absolutely worth the asking price.
I bought that with "only" a 20% discount, and again - I don't regret it.
The Monkey Island GOG sells looks nothing like the copy I have.

The first two games are remasters. You can switch to the original graphics though.
I default on not buying. At least for the time being, got my own reasons.

Not only that (which by the way is as easy as pushing one key). You can also extract the original files and play the game on ScummVM with classic graphics and the new voice acting and re-recorded music.
On Sep 26, 2016 I bought Outlaws for 1,39 €, so yes, if you want a better discount, it can be slightly cheaper and you might want to wait and play something else. To be honest though 65% to 75% doesn't seem like a huge difference on a 5
€ game. It's a matter of cents. If I were you I would get it now that you want to play it. If it's just to collect it and it's gonna becomebacklog you can wait.
On Magog and other websites you can check historical lows of GOG games prices.

Monkey Island is a classic and should be played right away - it's that good...... especially the opening theme.

If you really want them for completion's sake/to try them then these deals seem pretty good/likely the best we'll get(short of getting games free during big events/sales). Also imo one shouldn't look at the percentage but rather the dollar/euro/etc price vs. the estimated enjoyment/time spent playing one will get out of a title.

For games that are around 2-3 bucks for hours of gameplay that seems like an instabuy(or close to it) to me. :)

Bah, no one on GOG actually plays games anymore....we all just come to lament the current industry trends & pine for the gamed/media of our youth(like stereotypical old men hitting ceiling with brooms to get them young'ins to turn down that racket & telling other kids to get off our digital lawns). ;D

You can already do all that with the remaster as is iirc.
