Darvond: Isn't Disaster Report just exactly this?
Oh, yes, that one looks very promising. Thanks for mentioning it, I will have to check it out.

ariaspi: Maybe Dying Light and/or Dead Island. Cryostasis. Would games like Left 4 Dead, World War Z, Earthfall count?
Those are just shooters. I played Cryostasis, you are actually investigating a ship after a disaster has already happened. The beginning was very promising, but eventually you get strong weapons like the Tommy Gun and Ice Gun and it just turns into a simple shooter and falls apart IMO.

antrad88: Think of movies like The Poseidon Adventure (1972), The Towering Inferno (1974), Daylight (1997) or maybe even Deep Blue Sea (1999) where you have a small group of people stuck in some location trying to survive some kind of disaster.
I haven't played it so I don't know if it is recommendable but going by your description Fade to Silence seems to fit the bill. It's even available here on GOG. www.gog.com/game/fade_to_silence

The reviews seem to be pretty mixed but quite a few of the bad reviews seem to come from a buggy release and I would guess the worst bugs should have been cleared up by now.

antrad88: BTW, one thing I forgot to put more focus on in the first post is "GROUP OF PEOPLE". I can't name any survival game where you manage a group of survivors, except for The Thing from 2002, but that one is more a horror/shooter game. I think adding elements from that game, like the trust/fear mechanics and multiple survivors having different abilities to solve different obstacles would fit in this "disaster" game concept.
