I ask as the Boston Straight Pride Parade happened and boy oh boy was it telling of how some view straight people. The ones who got violent and arrested/etc were mainly those on the supposedly "tolerant" side of things, while a few fat & pasty white guys milled around and shouted through bullhorns with some signs and people mobbed them over it.

Add to that many news articles spinning it to paint them as all evil people or misguided at best, and Boston's mayor basically calling it "h*te", and you can see why some would be upset or just laughing at the double standards(when compared to marches others have held).

So what does everyone here think? Is it ok if done for the right reasons or is the mere holding of such an event always defacto bad/wrong or a good thing? And if so, why?
========================
(Btw I am mainly posting this to get opinions on the matter. If anyone wants to post such and not here they can PM me their thoughts, or to complain about the thread if one chooses. Please try to keep any complaints to a minimum or via PM if possible to allow the discussion to not get derailed with such. Thanks in advance)

===============
To those who dislike my thread topics, know this: I do not post such to make anyone's day miserable, to ruin the forum, or any of that. I just post because I love the store/forum and want to talk my interests with fellow users. I make clearly labelled threads so people that dislike such can avoid them and keep them rare and contained also to be respectful. All I ask is that those here who dislike such try to show me the same courtesy you'd show any other member you do like, even if I post things you dislike or we disagree on what belongs on the forums.

That said, have a good day/night/evening/what have you. I go now to the thing some call the little death(sleep). See you all later

Well, it's nice no one has derailed this thread, but the tumbleweeds blowing around aren't much for discussion, and I notice the trolls hit the thread already and ran away like always.

I think straight pride parade was just invented o troll the alphabet people and it pretty much worked with their moronic protest while screaming the usual bigoted SJW slurs. They sure love to preach tolerance while being intolerant themselves. The idea of being against straight people by the alphabet people is a joke even in itself cause you do need straight people to make a baby the natural way. so... in other words, no straight people means no more alphabet people.

Let's all just ban those stupid ass parades and have one big party without wanting to feel special? but if we'd do that those alphabet people can't feel special anymore.

Only Caucasian white people and Jews support this gay pride stuff.
The growing Muslim population in USA especially the Pakistanis are deadly against any gay agenda or pride festivals. I guarantee you if the gays do this pride thing in Muslim strongholds like New Jersey, we will get to see some beheadings.

Let's just make one big parade for everyone that likes to seek attention like this and call it the attention seeker's parade and hold it in the middle of antarctica.

As for that clip: Chapelle is hilarious and fair....he insults everyone equally and does a decent job of it most times.

Well, I haven't been paying much attention to it, honestly, but I'm of the opinion that of course in this climate of fake "tolerance" and the "everything must be ok for everyone; everyone must agree with everything but we'll burn you if you don't" mindset that gets pushed by the mass media that there will be people whose only recourse is to shout "hate" or something similar when confronted with something they personally can't deal with.

It seems you aren't allowed to be proud of yourself for any reason unless you're outside the norm somehow. The hypocrisy is stunning. "But but but - history!" Yeah, well screw that. I'm not living in the past, I'm living now, and the only people with real advantages are those with money. In my opinion.

That last paragraph is especially good and on point, but the whole reply you made is pretty good and accurate.

Imo at this point if marginalized groups getting special rights and treatment is a thing and it is dependant on how such people are treated and viewed then all straight white people should have their own group and be protected with how some treat them like sh*t(and are encouraged to by some) lately.

Purportedly intended as parody of an LGBTQ Pride Parade, the march featured Pepe the Frog cosplayers, members of the far-right street gang the Proud Boys, and alt-right troll Milo Yiannopoulos as grand marshal riding atop a Trump 2020 float
This seems like a fitting Trump quote "SAD!"

To me some might be genuine and using the parade to push an agenda but some are likely also using it to troll the ones who would protest this sort of thing. To me them doing so is hilarious.

Also it's a mix of people, from what I read/saw.....some just went and marched because they are sick of the double standards, and some marched to troll or propagandize.

(Also never heard much of Milo but imo he's not far right or much of a troll, and the proud boys aren't far right either...)

The whole reason I visit the GOG forums is just for these kinds of hard-hitting and detailed discussions about PC games. I sure am glad that we talk about games here and not any political BS like some forums.

Then this is more your speed: https://www.gog.com/forum/general

We have maybe less than half a dozen current events threads up at any time compared to dozens of other types of threads, so I don't see the validity behind your complaint. :|

I want games without social-political agenda's!!! but I sure as hell am getting forced to have it by political correct nutjobs who think their view of the world is the right one while every 5-sec one of those devs is accused of sexual assault or something else. You don't like? don't comment or go into the thread. nobody is forcing you to read it or comment.

Look dude, we understand that you have opinions and stuff (like the other 7 billion people on the planet), but maybe you could post the political stuff on political websites and leave this forum for just talking about games and Indian black magic curses baba-ji?

Or you could.....*gasp*...do something as radical as....I dunno.....avoiding the few threads I make per month? That's an option too.

Also it's funny you mention baba-ji...that person made around 50+ threads, yet I get more dislike over a few threads that actually have some use and encourage debate.
