darthspudius: I couldn't care less. If it works and I get to enjoy it, I'll buy it.
Yeah I also enjoyed Plants vs Zombies and Peggle as long as the PopCap activation servers were online.

Later EA bought PopCap Games and those activation servers went offline, so now I can't play those games anymore.

So yeah, with DRM the game may work... at least for some time.

Anyway, luckily I am not that interested to the Shen Mue games, as I've understood they are kinda lacking in the game department. They were hot shit back in the day on Dreamcast due to the good graphics (for the time) and a "story". Or so I've heard.

But yeah, if they at some point come available DRM-free, sure, I'd possibly buy them out of curiosity.

I am more concerned that the OP hasn't linked a source that the Remaster will even have Denuvo because I do not see it the news anyway, not in the Steam forum dedicated to the game, not in Google News, nothing.

johnnygoging: I was reading NetHack had a patch recently. Is this the Denuvo patch? Is it!?

Is it really that big news? Does it always go to headlines if some forthcoming game will have e.g. Denuvo?

Just asking, I have no idea if it will. Then again, even if it didn't, I am pretty sure it will have some (other) DRM anyway, and yeah I am not going to argue here whether Denuvo is DRM or not, that is irrelevant.

Just found out it was there before you replied to me.

Then again I always preferred to play this game on Consoles then PC.

Still need a PS4 at the moment.

Imagine my shock. ;)
even without denuvo, it's still shit. 30fps locked when the DREAMCAST ORIGINAL ran at 60. just get demul, bump up the graphical settings and BAM. BETTER than the pc port.

except no japanese but I think there's modded isos that add that in...

I don't because it means I'd have to buy a Dreamcast. Even if I managed to buy a real Dreamcast, then I'd wonder how to connect its RCA A/V cables to any modern display device. At best I might be able to obtain a VGA-box for Dreamcast, but VGA input is becoming rarer and rarer in TVs and monitors.

And when the Dreamcast controller finally breaks down (unless the GD-ROM drive dies sooner), good luck trying to find a replacement.

Nah, I much prefer the backwards compatibility of PCs. On PCs there is a much higher possibility that I can play the games I buy now also 10-20 years from now.

Dreamcast original was also 30 fps.

That's made me curious on how we would measure the dreamcasts fps output.

Bought a second-hand Dreamcast a few years back for around 50 bucks. Also got a bunch of ( mint ) controllers and memory units, and various games at very low prices ( some of them still mint/ factory sealed too ). Finding a VGA box took some more effort, but is absolutely worth it.

But I agree -- These days I only play games on my PC. Much more convenient to have everything on one device, and no console comes close to the compatibility, games selection and overall freedom of a PC.

Digital Foundry (the folks that painstakingly analyze a game's framerate and have also covered the Shenmue duology) have posted a video about how they measure fps in console games:

Well... I am sure glad I did not enter their kickstarter...

Grargar: We have seen Denuvo on free games.
Care to list those, friend, so that I know which ones to avoid?

Oddly enough, I almost bought the Popcap library on Steam during their last Summer Sale.

If those titles are no longer working, why is EA still selling them?

Oh, wait, 'teh m0nie$'. *facepalms*
