DeadFishEye: Do you canadians eat a lot of cereals?
I don't know about the Box, but I can't stand cereal.

Nope. Closest I get to that is polenta.

I've had that a couple of times. Seems to recall putting maple syrup on it.
I for one am offended that oatmeal is being discussed in a favorite recipe thread. :P

I come in here for fancy gourmet timeless dishes, not horse food! XD

Ugh. I make my polenta on the savory side. Onions, garlic, and thyme are the base flavors. At the end of the cooking process, I add cheese. Maple syrup would be god-awful on that. ;)
My cashew paste recipe:

-ground up about 100-150g of unsalted roasted cashews (to the consistency you like, I like ground coffee consistency)
-pour in some peanut oil and stir it in so that it is enough to moisten all the ground cashew grains
-add a tablespoon of butter
-add a couple of pinches of salt
-I also pour in a teaspoon of olive oil but it's up to you

Now stir it all together really well until you get a slightly creamy consistency. Put it in the fridge overnight to chill. Even if the paste was a bit runny from the oil it will thicken up a bit.

Enjoy, I know me and my wife love cashew butter on bread for breakfast.

I remember a trip to Canada back in '87(?). I seem to recall it from then.

Been a long time....

In general, probably. Me, not so much.

I do like steel cut oats though - I don't get to eat it very often.
Any cool summer recipes?

I recommend Jamie Oliver's tacos!
