Completely forgot about this, damn. :/

I just keep remembering how everyone shouted at me and told me not to be so stupid when I opposed the launch of a client on the basis that it would take up GoG's time, effort and resources and mean that they wouldn't be responsive when it comes to fixing issues outside of those impacting the client.
I suspect Voliton are too busy working on their Fortnite mod... I mean on Saint Row remake, to care about fixing this issue.
Since GOG 'looking into the issue' apparently didn't solve anything:

Did anyone contact the devs about this and if yes, what did they say?

ponczo_: Hey, I wanted to inform you that the problem has been already reported and is being investigated. ...
Hi ponczo_
or maybe you have some news about this? What did the investigation yield? Is this a bug that will be fixed? Or is it a 'feature' that was added intentionally?

F*ck, GOG has really been falling apart! And they expect us customers develop an infinite patience (or a kind of idiocy?) because they are not even capable of opening the mouth to provide status updates... Sad and infuriating, to say the least...

Yeah, looks like you can't have your cake and eat it too. Perhaps a client wasn't such a good idea.

I'm bumping this as I'm genuinely curious to know - has this issue been fixed yet? I think 6 months is more than long enough to fix a broken offline installer, yes?

Is it only an issue with GOG launcher only? If it is that's weird. My friend is buying lots of retro games which probably could have the same issue but never heard about such...

Probably not. Gogdb shows no changes since May, this year. Version 1.0.6.1 is still the last one.
Would be happy to see a response to this.

I don't own this game but I do use GOG, will never use Galaxy, and would like to think that my games (present or future) won't be the broken version because GOG doesn't test the non-Galaxy version.

This is a issue for the Saints Row Forum.
And no, there has been no update since the complaints were registered.
There are workarounds for most problems however.

Happy Anniversary everyone! That's right, it's been one whole year to the day since this game was released then abandoned with a broken offline installer that was acknowledged with an 'investigation' by GOG with seemingly no resolution. According to gogdb the game has never been updated. Are you ever going to fix this broken game?

I can answer that for you…
Galaxy is mandatory and that is what the majority want. But don’t worry, next up will be streamed services and you will look back fondly on the times you only needed to install some half functioning software to scrape your data n the name of convinience.

They've fixed plenty of "whoops no Galaxy causes a problem" issues before. You just have to make enough noise and be patient enough for GOG's super small support team to get around to it. Unlike on Steam it's them who have to fix it, the publisher couldn't give a rat's ass. Valve literally does nothing but upload the games.

Yeah, I doubt there will be any fix whatsoever. The game runs like shit anyway...
