This is how a new age of epic fantasy RPGs was spawned.

Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition, which marked the triumphant resurgence of epic party-based RPGs, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 60% launch discount.

Some RPG enthusiasts enjoy customizing their character and carefully picking their travelling companions based on both their personalities and combat skills. Some enjoy dark, engaging narratives with branching elements and dozens of side-quests. Others just want to hack at giant dragons and demonic hordes. Dragon Age: Origins walked the extra mile, also letting players shape their legendary Grey Warden by playing through their unique backstory. The whirlwind of wild magic, gruesome battles, complex politics, tough moral choices, and dramatic moments that ensued helped cement this epic adventure as one of the most influential ones in recent memory. And that was even before that night when Morrigan approached you with a certain offer...

Gather your party of memorable NPCs and venture against the tides of darkness in Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition, DRM-free on GOG.com.
The 60% launch discount will last until July 21, 12:59 PM UTC.

Thiev: It contains all DLCs and all items included in Promotional Items Pack on Origin.

blotunga: The problem is that this DLC is not inside the Promotional Items Pack... There are two DLC that I know are not present in that one:
Blood Dragon Armor and Collector's Edition. I was wondering if somehow GOG got ahold of those too.

Clocknova: Good to see this game here. What about the Mac version? I'd love to buy it here.
with this:
http://portingteam.com/files/file/7163-dragon-age-origins-steam-version/
I played the base game... I still don't know if it work with the ultimate gog edition but this port was not native even on the official release (it was a cider port like the portingteam unofficial port) (and right now there is no way to get the old official port).
Also now that this game is on gog it should be easy to just port it with wineskin with some wine hq help (maybe portingkit will get it soon).
Anyway I don't think they will release the old official mac port.
This page have all the DLC's for dragon age origins, if the GOG version is missing a DLC, just scroll down and you will be able to download the missing DLC, also there is the collector's edition http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Downloadable_content_(Origins)

EA had this thing, were they had to authorize your dlc before you can use it, even if you manually downloading the dlc. (as an example, if their servers were offline, and you used a backup source for the download, it would still need to authorize the dlc after installation)

However, I think that was the case for DA:O dlc, maybe not anymore.

damnit, I hate when gog combines posts.

BAZ: My memory my be failing, but from what I can recall, it was maybe Age of Wonders 3, and Victor Vran... unless they were later patched or something.

And I'm not talking about non-content stuff like.... what was it, rankings? I'm talking about content, like game modes, or items, or events that require you to login after registering.

JudasIscariot: Victor Vran was patched a long time ago, I think maybe a week after the game's release and all of the content for Age of Wonders 3 is available for single player.

If you have concrete proof, please feel free to share :)

1. gog advertised drm-free, right?
2. https://www.gog.com/game/age_of_wonders_3 advertised 'multi-player'
3. can't play mutli-player without registering AND connecting through the dev/pubs servers, even for peer to peer multiplayer.

That was the reason I stopped buying on gog (yea, I may have made a purchase or two since then, even AOW3 it self, I was trying to support gog and be a collector, maybe I will again in the future, or if the AoW3 drm was patched)

Wow.

I have very little interest in modern day games. DA:O was one of the few games which managed to get beyond that and pique my interest, at least until I read about its DRM, which killed my interest instantly. I've since switched fulltime to Linux, so I'll want to wait for some early reports on how well this works under wine, but I'm moderately hopeful about this going on my wishlist in very short order!

Age of Wonders III and VPN support for multiplayer Read that and tell me what you think.

Seriously is this still going?

Yes you need to be online to play online multiplayer. That is not DRM. You can just play the single player campaign and rip out your ethernet cable or have your wifi router thrown out of the window.

You also made an account to buy games on gog, so what's the problem? It takes 5 seconds to make an account for Age of Wonders III if you want to play multiplayer that is. I assume you don't play MMO's either because you need to register and connect through their servers?

Anyhow AOW 3 never has and never will have DRM. It's just a hoax and an illusion.

I quote the gog info page:
DRM or Digital Rights Management is a kind of copy protection technology used by many companies to limit the usage of digital media. We believe that a DRM-free world would be a better place and that's why you won't find any DRMs or other intrusive copy protection in items available at GOG.com.
You are not limited in your use of digital media at all.
I just noticed that the price of Dragon Age is cheaper than Origin and Steam. Normally, because of the regional pricing, Steam games are 50% cheaper for Turkey. But in this case, the price of GOG is the same as Steam which means it is half price for other countries by default.

Result: BUY Dragon AGE on GOG.
Wow, I'm blown away that EA let these games on GOG. Now hopefully we can get Dragon Age 2 so I never have to log on to Origin again.
FYI, there is an issue present in the current build of DAO - if you have Dragon Age on Origin account and launch Origin client with GOG version installed, Origin will find it and trigger an update.

Hotfix for that will be deployed shortly (meaning - today).
I apologize for any (potential) problems caused.

Oh, that's only if you have the Origin version installed as well? Well that's not a big deal for me as I don't have anything Origin installed.

No, it's enough if you own it / have it on your Origin shelf.

Ah, I see. Fortunately for me that's no problem as i've never even installed Origin ever.
Very suprised to see Dragon Age come to GOG. Kudos to GOG Team & EA. Though seeing as I have Origin installed and own it there, i'll wishlist it for now.

tinyE: 22gb?

Well then, that saves me a few bucks. :P

Shit, the 8 I need for Dead Space is going to destroy my monthly allowance as is.
I tried playing that game a few times and I couldn't stand it. The controls, the interface, the dialogues, all horrid. So I tried Dead Space 2, and, it sucked too, imo.

I wonder if this Dragon Age game is any good...?
