sanscript: Seeing how many accounts there still are around which should be locked and deleted because of obvious trolling/spamming (not to be mistaken with casual humour and civil discussion), don't hold your breath.

Speaking of GOG's compounded public relation failures; every new user should get an email about fake key sites and a warning about spamming they have to read and reply to.

And yes, OP's post smells spam all the way to Pluto. The fact that the only game he has is Sid Meier's Pirates was also kinda "tongue in the cheek" message. How's that for irony? :D
Exactly, I think most key sites should be shut down thing is you shut down one 100 take it's place.

Maxvorstadt: And the morale of the story? Buy from GoG.com only!
:-)
Or Humble Bundle. But they certainly don't sell much of GOG's catalogue at all.

And they are now more interested in pushing their subscription model.

I agree, and just like with using car-belt and substance abuse (sugar as well); information and education is the best way to fight these things.

I've been around on the internet since it came, but I can still have trouble seeing how legit a site is unless I do some research. so GOG should at least inform every new user about known fake key sites. Other than that it's nothing else one can do...

fr33kSh0w2012: G2A is a PIRATE SITE you got scammed and they got a hold of your CC details.
Not sure i'd call it a pirate site. Though definately both shady & untrustworthy.

DoomSooth: You gambled on G2A and then they boarded you, swabbed your poopdeck
*snerk* now I'm reminded of Pixel Piracy... where cleanup is literally them picking up poop and flinging it all over the place. Love that game. Now i wanna play it again.

Linko64: false positives tend to happen with game clients
As well as AHK scripts. Some free online games won't let me even run the game with an AHK script active because it qualifies it as a cheating program...

AceOfHearts2020: Story closed. My bank returned me my money.
Can't say it's a happy ending. While you got your money back, a dev might have gotten screwed based on stolen credit cards and then the money recalled. But if you don't repeat the mistake that's one less issue for later.

I see a number of games that cross over. But they don't sell GoG keys hardly at all. So...
What a thread , I just need to get my corn to pop.

Btw which key seller sites are okay? Cdkeys?

AHK script what is that?

For gog games, never use key sellers, buy direct from here. For other stores, well you don’t own anything there so it doesn’t really matter anyways.
So no, I wouldn’t trust any key sellers, but then I don’t trust anything on the internet full stop.
