It looks promising, but I always liked that Joker's past was "multiple choice". An origin story sort of ruins that.
This looks amazing! I`m not huge into the Joker by any means, but this looks super good. Totally not what I was expecting!

Hasn't stopped multiple origin stories in the comics before.
I'm sure Phoenix will do a great job with it, but I just think they need to give comic book movies a rest for a while. Too many reboots, sequels, and tie-ins. Here we are 11 years after Dark Knight and I can easily say that DK was the last one I really enjoyed.

I'll agree that even I'm getting tired of some of them (I'm not going to see anything more from the MCU at this point, except maybe Thor if he gets another film), but some are still great. I loved Wonder Woman and Logan is actually in the same league for me as Dark Knight, it's absolutely superb.

With hom much money they are making, they're obviously not going away for a while yet, so best we can hope for is for them to get more diverse. There are fantastic, unique and bizarre comics out there. I'd love to see a Superman: Red Son or Uncle Sammovie or Bone to become an animated series.

The actors doing these movies said they want to move on to other things. There's also the fact that eventually the stories would become too complicated to connect to future movies. Joss Whedon left the MCU because of that. I love superhero movies and can't get enough of them, but it might come to an end soon.

You do realise that

a) superhero movies exist outside of the MCU
b) characters can be recast
c) new characters are being introduced all the time and are mostly doing great (at least in terms of making money)
d) not everything has to be connected
That`s one of the things I like about this movie, that it`s not supposed to be connected to anything else.
I'm getting a good feeling from this trailer, it's a lot less dark from what we seen with the modern joker and far more interesting than the recent hipster one we got with suicide squad. Gonna check this one out on theatres.
Less dark? I'm getting the opposite feeling, this is going to be the darkest Joker yet.

it's maybe the face make up but not sure, the dark knight joker was pretty dark. this one seems like he is more insane in the head but more calm and normal on the outside, hard to explain but when the movie comes out we will all know lol.
The final trailer for Joker is out now:
