I already asked that question in " Midweek Sale: Japanese-Themed Games up to -80% "
thread but I didn't get an answer so Im asking here...

Would using any GOG images (like for example the GOG-chan image from this ( " Midweek Sale: Japanese-Themed Games up to -80% " ) sale) as a profile picture here would be seen as breaking any GOG rules or TOS? Im asking because " "some other companies" " have various rules around these kind of things and Im not sure if I have seen GOG ever even slightly mentioning anything about this...

(Im asking because I would like to crop the current GOG-chan image and use it as my profile pic ;) :D )

I would appreciate if somebody from GOG team would make an official statement (and not just a personal opition)...

We'll see if staff will answer this. My guess is they would be fine with it. And even if not, they would simply politely ask you to change your avatar...

They love when you do it. My Avatar is from a sale, too. They keep a collection of sales images on their imgur page, too. I think. It's been a while.

Well... I didn't know that they have an OFFICIAL imgur page... I actually searched right about now and I couldn't find it...
Perhaps you could provide me a link?

BTW now Im also wondering if I could use THIS fanart without asking the creator for permission... Whaddaya think? (**and sorry for going offtopic for a second**)

You could, but the creator could in turn get it removed from your account (potentially causing you other account related issues as theyd be going through the legal dept most likely). Always better to get permission in such cases.

As to the initial question in the OP, GOG generally dont have an issue with it.

Well yeah I know it's always the best to ask but how do I even get a permission from a random guy on the internet anyway?

Please elaborate on generally...

Also unless they give us official rules everything is in the shadow territory when you think you can do something but don't really know officially for sure... Hence the original question...
