TheNamelessOne_PL: You are somewhat right, but there are some real world benefits to buying a Uplay game on Steam. First of all, you can use Steam Wallet funds. If you play CS:GO or other games like that, you stand a shot at getting item drops, which you can then sell on the community market in exchange for Steam Wallet funds. Those can partially or fully cover your purchase. I don't think Uplay has anything like that.
Additionally, if you purchase the game from Steam and want a refund, you can apply to do so via Steam. Now, Steam's requirements for refunds are less than 2 hours played over 2 weeks. It's not great, but as long as you stay under that limit, they should give you the refund with no questions asked. Now, I am not sure what the Ubisoft policy towards refunds is like, but from a quick google search, it must be less than 2 weeks since your purchase AND you mustn't have launched it at all. So, that's a worse deal than Steam.
Yeah, it somewhat sucks these companies have not been putting their game on here for so long, but at least you can buy their classics.
Screw Steam's Marketplace, that is full microtransaction through and through, even if VALVe lets you on the Steam Marketplace to sell freaking virtual items from video games like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive to get some of your money back.
I do not want to ever, ever see a system like this added in gog.com ever.
All of the Steam Trading Cards and items I receive in my inventory I just save and never bother to sell them on the Steam Markeplace I do not want to ever be a part of that kind of community. I never want to see this in gog.com ever.
