Maybe Microsoft will give us better sale prices or, heck, even more reasonable base pricing on Activision titles.
Activision has always been a bit ridiculous in that aspect, concerning older titles.
Or maybe everything will function as normal, I don't know.

rtcvb32: With their UWP and forced 'store' installed on windows 8, 10, 11, why would they bother with Steam/GoG/Anywhere?

Johnathanamz: Have you not been following MicroSoft news lately?

MicroSoft's UWP and Windows Store has failed, MicroSoft is releasing all of their video games for sale on Steam.
Hmmm no i haven't kept up with that particular news. Interesting.

Failed or not it was the push to do the same thing Google/Apple tried to do with locking you to using their storefront, and having to use their signed environment to run any app at all.

BrianSim: Microsoft hasn't changed at all. They may have abandoned their dream of forcing the UWP monstrosity onto everyone, but MS published games and the MS Store is still just as pro-DRM now as GFWL was, so absolutely nothing new will come to GOG at all.
Indeed. I remember the Always-Online requirement for the xBone, which was a hard line and it was such a huge backlash they within 2 weeks reversed it. They also removed the 'Have to have the Kinnect to make it work' on their Console.

They will take it as far as you let them take it, and still push to see if you'd let them go further.

Ah, I remember the Kinect thing. It was that always-on camera thing that sat on top of a TV (even in kids bedrooms...), and they even had a patent to try and introduce Visual DRM that charges people extra / blocks some movies from being viewed based on "seeing" the number of people watching. Microsoft. Microsoft never changes...

You are somewhat right, but there are some real world benefits to buying a Uplay game on Steam. First of all, you can use Steam Wallet funds. If you play CS:GO or other games like that, you stand a shot at getting item drops, which you can then sell on the community market in exchange for Steam Wallet funds. Those can partially or fully cover your purchase. I don't think Uplay has anything like that.

Additionally, if you purchase the game from Steam and want a refund, you can apply to do so via Steam. Now, Steam's requirements for refunds are less than 2 hours played over 2 weeks. It's not great, but as long as you stay under that limit, they should give you the refund with no questions asked. Now, I am not sure what the Ubisoft policy towards refunds is like, but from a quick google search, it must be less than 2 weeks since your purchase AND you mustn't have launched it at all. So, that's a worse deal than Steam.

Yeah, it somewhat sucks these companies have not been putting their game on here for so long, but at least you can buy their classics.
I thought of 4chan greentexts.

Screw Steam's Marketplace, that is full microtransaction through and through, even if VALVe lets you on the Steam Marketplace to sell freaking virtual items from video games like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive to get some of your money back.

I do not want to ever, ever see a system like this added in gog.com ever.

All of the Steam Trading Cards and items I receive in my inventory I just save and never bother to sell them on the Steam Markeplace I do not want to ever be a part of that kind of community. I never want to see this in gog.com ever.
