I'll pass mainly for two reasons.

Firstly there is no guarantee for DRM-free games. The available games are going to be playable on Steam.
Secondly chances are that even for DRM-free games I will end up with many I already own on GOG.
Too risky for my taste. Like others said before, you might end up with duplicates or stuff that you are not interested in.
Make it generally DRM-free, multi-platform and $7 per month and I'll reconsider.
I wouldn't even take it for $1 if most games are Steam and Win only no matter how many AAA games are stuffed in there.

comradegarry: Too bad they don't say if they're DRM-Free or any specific details on the release platform(s) or amount of games. Sounds like a crappy deal to me :\

"Q. Does "haven't been featured in other bundles" mean only never been in previous Humble Bundles? Or will games not have been bundled anywhere (including other bundle sites)?
We're trying our best to pick a good mix of some of our favorite classic games, and hot new games! Each month's Humble Monthly release will include a mix of games never before released in a Humble Bundle, and some of our favorite classics from previous bundles.

Q. Will each game be a separate Steam key? Or will games be grouped together as a single Steam key?
Absolutely all of the games that you get as part of the Humble Monthly subscription are individually giftable. Once the November content unlocks, you can feel free to give away any of the games you will receive.

Q. An IGN article states that "At launch, all games in the monthly bundle will include Steam codes. However, in the future, some games will be DRM-free and may not be on Steam, or may appear on other platforms." However, your site says "What are the games playable on? / Steam for Windows. Sometimes more!" Can you confirm whether games in the Monthly bundle (past November) will all be Steam playable?
We certainly appreciate the level of attention we've been getting from the press regarding Humble Monthly, but unfortunately some of the information being circulated is incorrect. All games provided in the Humble Monthly subscription will have Steam keys included, and are guaranteed to be compatible with Windows. We always try our best to be as inclusive as possible with the range of platforms we support. Oftentimes this means we will be able to include a DRM-free version, and support for Mac, and sometimes even Linux. "

Personally, I`ve no interest in this. Paying for something in the hope you get something decent? Meh!
That`s just like Loot crates etc.

With this offer they seem to be deviating more than ever from their original principles. Seems like a sure no-go. Just out of curiosity, does anyone know which games were bundled this first month?

The first bundle hasn't even been released yet (6 November).

They say each bundle unlocks the first Friday of the month and with that message "Subscribe before November 6th to receive the next bundle." I assumed the one for October is already delivered.

Since the announcement for the monthly bundle was done on 1 October (Thursday), they didn't exactly want to release it the next day.

Possible leak:

Saints Row 4 http://store.steampowered.com/agecheck/app/206420/ (roughly $17)
Besieged http://store.steampowered.com/app/346010/ (roughly $9)
Valkria Chronicles: http://store.steampowered.com/app/294860/ (roughly $21)
The unlock (which I assume everyone has seen) was Legends of Grimlock 2 (roughly $30)
There looked to be LoG2 DLC as well but I don't see it on steam store.

I have no idea why people pay for this. Sure it is great to get games but you're shit out of luck if you have them all.

Yeah. I can't justify it. Even if I didn't have the games, there are tons of whole genres I don't like.

P.S. That said, grab-bags work exceedingly well on kids (and maybe adults alike?). The chance of something great becomes a focus and before you know it, your brain is saying you'll get your wildest fantasies fulfilled.

It might be Pillars of Eternity! *signed up* :-P

Ahahahahahahahahahhahahahaha, is this for real? I can't stop laughing!

I thought they would at least have the decency to wait until the second month to make people feel ripped off. A console port that's so yesteryear it even already saw a gog-release, an early access game, animu and a game that regularly is on sale for $5. Whare's the brand new AAA-crap to lure in the early adopters?

This is just pathetic.

What game are you talking about? The only game that saw a GOG release is Legend of Grimrock 2 and that's not a console port (it doesn't even exist on consoles).

Gah, confused SR3 and 4. Strike the part about the gog-release, the rest you can leave unaltered.
