What is the proper way to get the Yasha Sniper Rifle for Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty?

I'm asking because Cyberpunk's Twitch page says you have to go to a participating channel, and gift 2 Twitch subscriptions of any tier. But on Twitch, under the Drops and Campaigns, it says to just subscribe to a channel for the first time, and you'll receive this offer in your Drops and Rewards Inventory.

So gift 2 subs or just subscribe to a participating channel?

The basic requirement is that you own Cyberpunk 2077 and the Phantom Liberty expansion.

Although you can earn the codes for the additional content before purchasing, they only work with the game and expansion.

Here's a full list of supported channels.

Here's a translation of different rules for different stuff (taken from a German gaming site):

Like a page out of Activision Blizzard's book. I wish CDPR would avoid these kind of anti-consumer marketing tactics

I just want to be sure because I was able to get the regular type drops but it does say under the Drops and Campaign page to get the Yasha Sniper Rifle:

How To Earn The Reward: Subscribe to a channel for the first time, and you'll receive this offer in your Drops and Rewards Inventory.

It doesn't say anything on Twitch that you need to give out gift subscriptions. I did notice a few people in the channels just subscribing, thinking they are getting the Rifle drop.

I do agree because it makes it feel almost like a micro-transaction. Also, for me personally, I'm not one to drop a gift subscription on a channel that I just started watching 5 minutes ago.

This is beyond stupid. Yes, it's a marketer's wet dream that somebody watches an hour of trash on Twitch to advertise a game, but I hate that they're doing it and I would've expected better from CDPR.

It's times like this I'm reminded of just how far this hobby of my has left me behind.
The proper way to engage with Twitch is don't. They have their live porn for children, we have our self-respect. Oil and water.

I can't tell you which info is correct.
I don't use Twitch and I don't watch playthroughs.

All I can say is that that's the info Germany's biggest gaming magazine posted on their site. shrug

Vote with your wallets. If you play these kind of games CDPR I will not be buying your games anymore.
Huh, that's something I would have expected of a desperate asset flipper on certain game famous for flipping skins on twitch streams.

Don't. Only a person of weak ethical and mental faculties would participate in such a system. You wait for the game to be released in complete, DRM-free format that doesn't require hurdle-jumping to get the complete experience.

I just don't understand how we ended up in a world where skins and items and stuff like that became attractive rewards and marketing tools or even stuff people buy for good money, and not just a minor part of the base game.

But then I also don't understand Twitch.

I don't seem to understand much these days :D

Just reading the process required to get this content in a single player game makes me feel like I need to take a shower. Hard to believe so many of us once thought CDPR were the good guys...
Are these items obtainable in-game without the codes if someone just searches/grinds?

If not, this is BS. I dont use twitch so to lock off content to global audiences in a single player game because they dont go watch some particular content is wrong.
