I don't see the point really. I'd miss out on so many games if I did and that kind of beats the point of being a gamer.

I have never bought a game on Steam. With probably nearly 1500 DRM-free games, let's just say I'm never bored and can wait out whatever I want that's not yet available to own here or elsewhere.

Reclaiming any of the Mount & Blade games is only possible for releases from Russian speaking countries, as detailed here.

I suppose it depends on your priorities and the games you're personally interested in. I've been buying exclusively here for about 18 months or so, and GOG is providing me with more good games than I'm able to keep up with. Every once in a blue moon a new AAA game is released on Steam which I'd like to play, but I can live with that. There's always exclusives you'll miss, unless you subscribe to every client, and buy every console/ games platform in existence. And even then you're still going to miss out, unless you have time to play 24/7.

I think the release of Witcher 3 might also provide a significant boost to GOG. If it's successful enough, other publishers might be less reluctant to try that whole "DRM-free" thing.

Same here. I already have a crushing backlog that should keep me entertained enough for the rest of my life as it is, never mind with the stuff that I will inevitably add into it. Since I only log into Steam whenever I feel like playing one of the games that absolutely require Steam to be running, the chances of them bagging another sale from me are extremely low.

Plus I've had some problems with Steam in general, mostly with the client crashing when updating a game. Doesn't really encourage me much.

That sums it up really. I'd rather use discs and forget about GOG, Steam and Origin personally. But that is just me. :)

You should contact support. Believe it or not but for starters they will answer you, and if you still have mail receipts I am pretty sure they could fix your problem.

My Morrowind disc is too worn down to have the strength to answer you. :P

That's basically what I used to do myself. At least until they put mandatory Steam requirements on all those retail discs, so now that's not really an option anymore. Raeg.

That isn't necessarily a bad thing either. Sure some will be pissed simply because it is Steam but considering how poor the internet is in my town, having a disc to install most of the content isn't a bad idea. If you can accept Steam.

In my opinion, any type of pirating will always exists, whether its items, dreams or software. Anyone believing otherwise are surely diluting themselves.

I ""boycott"" steam. That is - games like Hexen and Doom can not be acquired from other than on Steam, and as far as I know ID still receives some money for the sales. Half-Life is/was a guilty pleasure. ...and these are the only games that I've bought through steam. EVER. Not that I play games like I used to, however, in the past I've downloaded cracks and pre-cracked games just because that damned DRM are idiotic, pointless, and annoying.

That's the key idea. If. I can see accepting Steam when you use mostly or exclusively DD to get your games and you don't know any better than Steam or you are only interested in AAA games, but to need Steam when I bought the disc? Seriously? The best part is that some releases nowadays don't even have a disc inside the case anymore. They give you a code and that's literally it.

As much as I hate steam I have to use it to play skyrim and a few other little games that I really like, Like deus ex human rev and crysis series , payday the heist stuff like that :( I hate when my friends are like NO we only play steam shit >:((((((
