Great page, great topic and it's all SHIT....
From this day on, I am checking gog.com for all my game purchases. The DRM free redemption program is genius and is the perfect way to get customers on board. I'd love the "OPTIONAL" client, but only if it stays optional.

Gog.com, keep it up. Keep expanding, and I'm here to support you.

No offence original poster but just because it is DRM free, that does not mean they are providing a better product than Steam. Sure Steam isn't perfect but neither is GOG. I'd rather balance it between the two.

Personally, I'd say shove this post up your backside and let people choose what they want. :D

It depends, really. The definition of "better product" is not necessarily objective, so if someone despises DRM even the most broken DRM-free version of a certain game can be better than a DRM'd one. It is just a matter of points of view.
Also, I don't see the OP trying to force people to choose anything; this might be blatant advertising (provided that it it possible to do so on the forums of the adveritsed), yet it is by no means different from what you are doing when saying that you'd rather balance between GOG and Steam.
Granted, I don't get the OP's annoying enthusiasm either, but there is no reason to be always that bitter and rude when in disagreement.

Steam is vaporware.

Run To The Hills!

But in OP's case it's more like "Run for the pills" :P

Well the obvious difference is that he just made a post instead of creating a public poll thread declaring his personal buying practices while asking people to denounce other digital distribution stores if they prefer one over the others. Then repent by filling the board and repeating the phrase Bart Simpson style for every purchase ever made at other places. :)

He's clearly had enough of those. More like "Run to the toilet and jam two fingers down your throat before you OD".

Well... How about "Run for the Pils" then? I guess a combination of pills and pils will work similar to the two finger method ;)

Well, that much is clear.
I was just saying that it doesn't seem to me that the OP is forcing something on someone, just as he wasn't forcing anyone when talking about balance: in fact, nobody is either responding with religious GOG mantras or has suddenly started to accept DRM, as far as I can see.
Regardless of the absuridity of an opening post, I don't appreciate people throwing gratuitous insults ("shove this post up you backside"). Everyone else here posted their own weird comments (and that is perfectly fine) without being rude.
It's just an incresingly strong habit of certain people I really cannot suffer, that's all -and I will probably get on someone's nerves for stating this, too, as it always happens when someone dares to "rebuke" a certain bad behavior.

These days I'd go for L4D2. But that does mean you don't get Louis.
