TheEndedSkull: Even if Fury Unleashed isn't missing updates anymore, it has another reason for being on the list that currently isn't mentioned: It's lacking the custom hero option that the Steam version has (something that allows you to use your own images for your character's appearance).
Kalafiorek: Hi, one of the Fury Unleashed devs here. Even as a tiny team indie team, we're dedicated to providing the same level of support to all platforms as much as it's technically possible. We certainly do not treat GOG as a second-class platform.
The custom hero option is fully supported on GOG since some versions now. You can create, share, and play with the same skins, as with the Steam version, by putting those into the "CustomHeads" folder inside the game's directory. This version doesn't include the Steam Workshop itself (for the obvious reason), but the ability to customize the hero is exactly the same.
We always try to push the main builds for all our players ASAP, as well, as provide platform-specific fixes and improvements if needed. It isn't easy for such a small team to provide the same level of support to so many platforms at once, but we're trying our best. We hope you understand. Thanks for being interested in our game!
Hello, thank you for being here!
Alright, so I did some testing just now and I see the problem: Your GOG installer doesn't include the CustomHeads folder or the custom head templates, which causes there to be no custom head slot in-game (which is what led me to believe the feature was missing from the GOG version). I tried making the CustomHeads folder and a test subfolder with a test head myself following the official guide for it, and that did work! The slot showed up, everything appeared to work properly. So it looks like all the functionality is there, it's just an issue of something missing from the installer. Should be an easy fix (hopefully, I know it's never wise to assume anything with programming is easy), and either way not an issue of the GOG version actually being inferior.
By the way, I hope mentioning the game here doesn't come across as harsh. I know your team has been really good about keeping the GOG version up-to-date, but despite how the title may sound this thread is more about tracking any and all ways that a GOG version of a game might be lesser than the Steam version - It's not meant to be like a judgment against developers, just something people can reference for information.
