adaliabooks: Perhaps not, but it does seem to be what most people who claim Galaxy is evil and a form of DRM are suggesting will happen, or at least that is my impression of the situation.
I'm going to have to call bullshit, here. You went from this...

Getting a couple more games (even AAA ones) to sell by allowing DRM wouldn't be worth losing the only thing that really sets them apart from their competitors.

To this...

...but the claim frequently made is that GOG are trying to sneak DRM into all their current titles, not release a few new ones that do have DRM.

Did you think I wouldn't notice? o.O

I don't see what the issue is. I said that allowing DRM would only really let GOG sell a few more AAA titles. I was assuming that like others you were suggesting that GOG's business plan is to introduce DRM subtly through Galaxy (into all their titles) to then allow themselves to sell other games with DRM.

I've stated very plainly that I *don't* consider GOG to be "subtle", so perhaps you ought to read a little more carefully -- for your own sake, mind you. ;p

There's no question that the industry as a whole wants DRM to be perceived as innocuous and/or necessary, nor is there any question that GOG sends mixed signals from time to time; so GOG, in my estimation, is a cross between an oddity and a question mark.
