It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).

I don't use Galaxy and I have over 400 games, so I rely on the updated notices on the items in my collection to know when something's been updated. Over the past 3 years, I can probably count on one hand how many times I've opened my collection and not seen at least one of my games has an update.

But, it's been over a month now, and not a single one of my 412 games have been updated? Just seems unusual considering past behavior, so I thought I'd check and see if that feature is broken or something?

Long story short - no, they stopped some time last month. No one knows why or if GOG truly intends to correct this or if it was intentionally removed.

Also, to save him the time:

Blue dots (update notification) in your game library/lists have stopped showing since the day GOG Downloader was removed. Now you have to manually check all your games for updates, and download them file by file using the browser, or use the "optional" Galaxy client. It's pretty clear what GOG team is trying to do here.

Haha!
Thanks for the info guys, depressing as it is. Yeah, it's obvious what they're trying to do. I buy my games on GOG because I want to own what I pay for and refuse to support the extortion business model and so will never have a Steam account. I prefer to buy my games legitimately (like I say, I've purchased more than 400 games here), but if GOG wants to get greedy and stupid, there's always other places to obtain things. Too much greed in this world.

TheRealBoscoe:
This thread is a great help: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/the_what_did_just_update_thread. Of course, GOG should have a working update notification and changelog system .

There soon will be....a company that is a smaller competitor of GOG is in the process of re-doing it's site, and adding more games over time(and maybe adding a forum as well). They are also taking game and site suggestions via their discord. Also despite the site name no client is needed, though atm they only have paypal as a payment option and the site has some issues(as they are still upgrading it).
------------------------------

Also a note: check game subforums or ask around if you can before updating your games here....some(like Wizardry 8 for some people) have issues with the latest versions and GOG won't provide older versions for most games beyond the current one

What's the point in keeping the "Updated" section if the blue dots are gone and nothing gets added here. I know for a fact some games were updated, but my Updated section still shows 0.

How can I possibly keep up with this manually.

Before anyone mentions it, no Galaxy will not fix this, because galaxy does not automatically update Offline installers or download offline patches. I'm specifically concerned with offline backups.

The blue dots work fine. For example, just this weekend Slipways had like 4 updates to the offline installers and they showed up right away, even on Sunday.

No, they really don't "work fine". Ghostrunner got an update yesterday I never got the notification. It's very spotty: sometimes you get the notification, sometimes you don't.

Yeah, Syberia The World Before has just updated itself via galaxy, but I see no blue dot on the website. Maybe there's some silly logic that blue dots only show up for non-installed games.

Yeah, I'm aware of GOGrepo, but when I tried it it seemed to be having massive issues generating the XML manifest. It seems GOG changed something and broke it.
I'll try gogcli, thanks.

No, the logic doesn't hold in my case. I'm using a browser to download offline installers, I've downloaded my entire collection, I don't use Galaxy on the machine I install on. None of this adds up to any reasonable logic that the notification flag is tied to "installation" for all users.

It's easier to say it's another bugged implementation. The flags aren't reliably set (or stay set) when a game is updated. This problem has existed for years.

Well in that case it really is just broken.

Sure, I've implemented a workaround for the xml problem. Might take a while to generate your manifest (I don't advise waiting in front of your screen for it), but it will work.
