It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Braggadar: No, they really don't "work fine". Ghostrunner got an update yesterday I never got the notification. It's very spotty: sometimes you get the notification, sometimes you don't.
The offline installers not being on par with Galaxy is a different issue. If the offline installer gets updated then it gets a blue dot, so that much is working fine. Offline installers in general, not so much.

Of course it is. I don't use Galaxy, so I'm talking about browser notifications of offline installers only. They're not consistently reliable - sometimes you won't get a notification.

I remember that blue dots were broken something like a couple years ago, but after being fixed they've worked 100% consistently since then. It's possible they got broken again, of course (specifically within the last day or two). Having stuff always work isn't really GOG's thing.

Just to clarify, blue dots have NEVER worked consistently or effectively at any point (nor in fact has the purple dot)! On and off over the years the dots stop completely for instance. At other times they will show, but not for all updates. Also, just to aid in this it is rarely that any changelog is provided, so checking any updates or what has updated is next to impossible, and for non-galaxy users you cannot access old installers or patches. This has been an ongoing issue for YEARS, and GOG have done nothing. The only option you have as a non galaxy user is this thread:
https://www.gog.com/forum/general/the_what_did_just_update_thread
And if you want more information:
https://www.gog.com/forum/general/provide_a_full_and_complete_changelogged_download_system/page1

Basically it boils down to use the “optional” client or sling your hook.

I wonder if something got broken. According to the What did just update? thread, Northgard has had two updates in the last few days, but the blue dot never showed up for me (it always did for past updates of this game).

Just got the notification for Northgard.
So database hiccup might be over.

I knew from various sources that a few games I had bought had "offline downloaders" updated yesterday but there was no blue dot. Today, the blue dots showed up, so I suspect the blue dots for "offline downloaders" are still applied manually and either someone forgot to set them or a new person was handling the updates.

Just to add on to this, sometimes the game-specific forums have changelogs. I can't think of an example off the top of my head where this happened, but, in theory, a changelog might be posted in a game-specific forum on here but not in the What Did Just Update thread. Obviously, it is a lot of work for those of us who don't want to use the "optional" client, but I just wanted to add on to your point.

I got some notifications today as well, but not for all, despite their offline installers definitely being updated (I looked through galaxy to avoid the website somehow marking it as "read" or whatever.

Its seems like notifications keep comming in.
Not in a big pile but slowly after each other.

Might be some (biological) crawler working through the database.

There are certainly situations where the blue dots get cleared.
So it may be down to one of those ... maybe some library option you used.

I know that getting some info via gogrepo.py or gogcli.exe will clear those blue dots too.

This may also be related to the recent missing games issue that many have experienced, where GOG have done something that has impacted many of us with our library.
